China Bans Umbrellas at Events
Leave that "Go Olympics Go!" banner at home. Whistles and chihuahuas too. They've all been banned at Olympic events.There is one item, however, that I am thrilled to see on that list of prohibited items: the umbrella. The Chinese are fanatical about carrying umbrellas around with them wherever they go, especially on sunny days. That image above is from the Great Wall, where I found myself getting poked on all sides by unsuspecting Chinese as I climbed up the Wall.
