Digging A Hole From China

digahole.jpg

"I would dig a hole all the way to China,
unless, of course, I was there.
Then I'd dig my way home."

-Dave Matthews, "Dreamgirl."

Ah, the rare Dave Matthews song that leads to blogging, though this post has nothing to do with the Olympics and everything to do with harnessing the power of Google Maps.  I've been wondering for a few days now exactly where I'd end up if I tried to dig a hole from from Beijing to the other side of the world.  Of course, the Internet has my answer: somewhere around Argentina's Rio Colorado.

Perhaps this explains why Argentina's men's national basketball team is sponsored by China's Li Ning?

[Thanks to the good folks at this website -- who are still attempting to "sandwich" the world -- for the help.]

Thank you, what an thoughtful thought. I am grateful for your article. What you said was unique. You made a couple really good insights. This is moreso the case in these recent times. I could not have said it any better myself. You did a awesome job, even though it wasn't all that comprehensive.

Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling “nobody wants to be first”.
