He made the room quite messy.
Today's text is reproduced in its entirety and is not edited. All non-sequiturs and grammatical errors are theirs. The text is titled "At the Resident Centre" from the "At the Olympic Village" section of the reader. Again: this really is a guide for how volunteers are supposed to deal with athletes in this particular situation. Today's text also explains just about everything you need to know about how Chinese volunteers are going to deal with the morning-after celebrations tomorrow. Enjoy:
Foreign athlete: Good morning, sir. I am sorry to bother you, but could you please change the beddings and do another round of cleaning for Room 517A of Apartment 10? My roommate got drunk and the made the room quite messy.
Local volunteer: No problem. But you have to wait for a while because everybody is doing the routine cleaning for other rooms. I will send somebody to your place in a few minutes, if you don't mind.
Foreign athlete: No, not at all. It would be even better if you could manage to send a maid there right now.
Local volunteer: I'll try my best. Hopefully the maid will be with you in just a couple of minutes. By the way, is your roommate okay now? Does he need anybody to help him?
Foreign athlete: He is fine, I guess. What he needs is to take a hot bath and have a bit of sleep. Oh, yes, we do need some fresh towels and I was wondering what I should do with my laundry.
Local volunteer: You can just go down to the laundry room on the first floor in your apartment and use the washers and driers there. Or you just look up the phone number of the laundry service in the Village Guide and make a call to them.
Foreign athlete: Sounds good. Oh, another thing. I'm sorry about that, but the water tap in our bathroom is loose and keeps leaking. Could you also send someone there to fix it.
Local volunteer: Okay. I'll contact the maintenance and ask them to fix it up right away. They will be there in no time.
Foreign athlete: Oh, thank you very much. I'll be expecting you guys in my apartment.

So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can't resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check. Oh, and by the way…don’t worry about my Doberman. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT under ANY circumstances talk to my parrot!” When the repairman arrived at Mrs. Agathe’s apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Doberman he had ever seen. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”

I am not sure if its just my missing skills or if internet marketing in general suffered from too much competition. What is the new trend or where is it heading? Is it the mobile world?

Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling “nobody wants to be first”.

You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
