Starry Nights
It's eveningtime here in Beijing, where the weather the last few days has been noticeably better. The numbers from the Chinese government seem to back that up, as air quality is getting closer to what you'd expect in a city like Los Angeles. It's certainly not great, but it's improving. Here's one truly positive sign: just taking a walk around town here a few minutes ago, I saw a star in the sky. Now, that might not sound like much, but in the month I've been here, I hadn't seen any astrological features except for the moon. And yes, it was just a single star, but still: this is progress, people.
While I'm on the subject: Mediastorm has an excellent new video about the pollution here. It's well worth your time.
