Thank you so much for giving everyone remarkably memorable chance to read articles and blog posts from this website. It is usually so enjoyable and also stuffed with a great time for me personally and my office acquaintances to search the blog minimum three times in one week to study the latest stuff you will have. Not to mention, we're actually motivated with all the awesome concepts served by you. Some 4 ideas in this article are in reality the most beneficial we've ever had.

They vary in terms of styles therefore it is easy to find a black pair that can be combined with any outfit. They can be matched with colored tunics to create different looks.
Let us not forget that Reagan's future vp (Bush) and cia chief (Casey) met with the Ayatolla Khomeini behind the back of the then-current Carter administration (treason) and arranged for Iran to keep the American hostages until after the election. In return Iran got, at the very least, a conduit thru which to illegally receive missiles and other armaments--which came to light when traitor Ollie North got busted taking the missile $$$ and giving it to friends in Central America who turned out, naturally enough, to be drug smugglers USA-bound. Ah, the good old days...
@ Carmen I know what your mean. In todays economy its hard to find a career that pays good and is consistent. I have found that if you just work hard and are consistent you can go places . Look at the author of this article, they are clearly a hard worker and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.

I have a question...BMI is super inaccurate. Proven by the fact that it doesn't take into account body fat. Therefor a 300 pnd body builder with 3% body fat is equal to a 300 pnd McDonald's monster with 30% body fat. Yet, the world uses it to judge obesity levels and so do doctors. So 2 questions.
Question 1:
What percentage of U.S. citizens would be obese if they used percent body fat (like they should) instead of inaccurate BMI?
Question 2:
How many people are misdiagnosed because they use BMI instead of doing it properly?
And just to ponder:
How many girls destroy themselves to make their BMI the proper number?

However, I have many questions about it. I wonder who made it, if there are any existing pictures or postcards of it way back then. Was it priced extra and/or separate from the property when it was bought and sold? Does the present owner know anything about it?

Excellent. Now he can pollute the world to an unheard of level. The production of photovoltaics is the single greatest producer per watt of toxic chemicals of any power producing technology. Also, the effective life of panels in real world installations makes them barely able to produce more than the energy needed to manufacture them. Good luck scaling up that technology. The key to energy efficiency is reduction of consumption. Just another case of believing that technology itself can necessarily improve our lives without intelligent application.

I enjoyed the read but if you smoke marijuana and find that you are becoming tired and de motivated and you do not want to quit using marijuana. Try vaporizing your marijuana and you will get more a of a clean headed high buzz.
Like tobacco, marijuana smoke contains toxins that are known to be hazardous to the respiratory system. Among them are the highly carcinogenic polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, a prime suspect in cigarette-related cancers. These toxins are essentially a byproduct of combustion, separate from the pharmaceutically active components of marijuana, known as cannabinoids, which include THC. When you burn marijuana it produces quite a lot of tar. Pipes and joints generally do not have proper filters. Bongs are not the answer, because you inhale concentrated smoke.
The vaporizer certainly reduces the level of tar. You will not have to worry about the harmful carcinogens your body is absorbing when you inhale marijuana smoke.

Many years ago the Highway department widened the road bed and bridges of I-225 to 3 lanes. Yet still to this day huge sections of the highway are still 2 lanes. They could just re-paint the lines and have a 3 lane highway. Even Chambers road, a surface boulevard is 3 lanes both ways. This is an answer for the question on using your VCR with the new digital tuner box. Yes, it is possible. You need to hook up your tuner box to the vcr, then the vcr to your tv.
The thing is, you have to tell your VCR to record the signal from the tuner box, so you'll need to select front or rear video input as your channel, instead of a broadcast channel. If you want to use your VCR timer, you'll need to do the same thing, telling it to record at the front or rear video input. Finally, whatever channel you want to record, you'll need to select it on the digital tuner box and leave its power on.
What a bummer to have to do this. I really like using my vcr, and having to do this is a hassle.

By international agreement, broadcasters (of all types, including HAM radio operators) in the US are assigned call letters beginning with "A", "K", "N", or "W". Radio/TV stations all begin with "K" or "W". As Jeffrey notes, "K" is used in the west an "W" is used in the east (the exceptions being KDKA & KQV in Pittsburgh, KYW in Philadelphia, and KFIZ in Fond du Lac, WI). The dividing line is the Mississippi River.
It's not clear that these four letters have any specific significance, though the mostly-unused "A" might have represented America, just as "C" is used for Canada and "X" is used for Mexico. Aircraft registrations use a similar scheme, also by international agreement.

We're all aware of solar photovoltaic cells, that produce electricity when the sun shines on them.
There's also radiant energy in long-wave infrared radiation (5-15 micrometers), emitted by the atmosphere (specifically by "greenhouse gasses"). Is it feasible to produce electrical energy from this greenhouse radiation? The greenhouse radiant energy is "on" full-time, and comes down from all parts of the sky, so doesn't have to be pointed to a source like the Sun.
Is there a physicist or electrical engineer familiar with the state of the art in this area?
Thnx.

Actually the reason it does this has to do with the construction of the motor that powers it. The direction an AC motor starts in depends on where it stops. In applications where the direction of spin matters (such as a fan) an electrical device called a starting capacitor is installed which forces it to go in a given direction. If the direction doesn't matter, the starting cap is an un-necessary expense and is left out.

I have been looking for a poem entitled "Petra". About all I can find about it is that it was written by John William Burgon (1819 - 1888), English clergyman, poet and dean of Chichester and that it won the Newdigate Prize for poetry at Oxford University in 1845. One source said it was 371 lines long, but these are all I have been able to dig up:
"It seems no work of Man's creative hand,
By labor wrought as wavering fancy planned;
But from the rock as by magic grown,
Eternal, silent, beautiful, alone!
Not virgin-white like that old Doric shrine,
Where erst Athena held her rites divine;
Not saintly-grey, like many a minster fane,
That crowns the hill and consecrates the plain;
But rose-red as if the blush of dawn,
That first beheld them were not yet withdrawn;
The hues of youth upon a brow of woe,
Which Man deemed old two thousand years ago.
Match me such marvel save in Eastern clime,
A rose-red city half as old as time.
"Sudden around me rocks and cliffs arise;
The earth their footstool, and their crown, the skies.
"Where rocks on rocks, on mountains mountains piled
Have form'd a scene so wondrous and so wild . . .
"The rough, rude ocean frozen into stone . . .
"How changed - how fallen! All her glory fled,
The Widow'd City mourns her many dead.
Like some fond heart which gaunt disease hath left
Of all it lived for - all it loved - bereft;
Mute in its anguish; struck with pangs too deep
For words to utter, or for tears to weep."
Is there anyone out there who can help me find any more of it?

I will suggest 2 places that I use the first one is Legal Bud!

"In general, the broadcast stations in the east start with the letter "W" and the stations in the west start with the letter "K". Was this a random choice or do these letters stand for something?"

Why can't the emissions testing be the same at a testing station as at a roadside test? When you drive by a roadside testing truck, your car is checked in a second or so; but when you go to an actual emissions testing facility they run your car for minutes on the rollers, testing for four or five different things. Plus, they also check your catalytic converter, fuel filter restricter, oxygen sensor, gas cap and the check engine light. Why can't the testing facility run the same test that takes just seconds like a raodside test?

We're all aware of solar photovoltaic cells, that produce electricity when the sun shines on them.
There's also radiant energy in long-wave infrared radiation (5-15 micrometers), emitted by the atmosphere (specifically by "greenhouse gasses"). Is it feasible to produce electrical energy from this greenhouse radiation? The greenhouse radiant energy is "on" full-time, and comes down from all parts of the sky, so doesn't have to be pointed to a source like the Sun.
Is there a physicist or electrical engineer familiar with the state of the art in this area?

Christy wondered why the plate in her microwave went in different directions. Thought this had been answered but I saw the reply a few days ago.

I hate my clear glass shower enclosure. Is there a way to keep it spot free, or nearly so, without taking the time to squeegee it every day? Maybe there is a product out there that can be applied to the glass that will keep it from getting water spots. Any suggestions appreciated.

As a kid growing up in the 60s, I remember the bagger at the grocery packing up our frozen food in "freezer bags." They were foil-lined bags that kept cold things colder on the trip home. Does anyone else remember those? And why don't stores have them anymore? They fit a half gallon of ice cream perfectly.

When going outside in the wee hours of the morning last week to view the meteor showers, I noticed that the stars were much clearer with my glasses on than off. (I'm near-sighted.) I understand how they improve my vision when viewing street signs while driving or even watching TV, but how can they possibly help me see things better that are millions or billions of miles away? I was surprised to see how much difference my glasses made at that distance! -Dottie from Broomfield

"It seems no work of Man's creative hand,
By labor wrought as wavering fancy planned;
But from the rock as by magic grown,
Eternal, silent, beautiful, alone!
Not virgin-white like that old Doric shrine,
Where erst Athena held her rites divine;
Not saintly-grey, like many a minster fane,
That crowns the hill and consecrates the plain;
But rose-red as if the blush of dawn,
That first beheld them were not yet withdrawn;
The hues of youth upon a brow of woe,
Which Man deemed old two thousand years ago.
Match me such marvel save in Eastern clime,
A rose-red city half as old as time.
"Sudden around me rocks and cliffs arise;
Of all it lived for - all it loved - bereft;
Mute in its anguish; struck with pangs too deep
For words to utter, or for tears to weep."
Is there anyone out there who can help me find any more of it?

I went to the Rockies game on July 3 and saw some great fireworks - both during the game and after. At the end of the game they emptied the west stands - where the fireworks were going to be going off overhead - and let those fans onto the field to watch. However, instead of just letting the fans walk onto the field, the fans walked from left field and center field all the way to the right field corner, before being allowed beyond the barricade tape and onto the field. My question - why the long way around?

My question. Where were these readings taken?
2nd question. Denver now, because of its heat retaining cement buildings and streets has to have a higher average tempeture than the dirt streets and wooden buildings of the 1870's. Has this been taken into account?

I'll admit, I've been sucked into the Sudoku fad. But I'm curious. The numbers given always have a pattern. I don't know what you'd call it, but if you cut the puzzle in half and rotated the top 180 degrees, you'd see that the same squares have "clues" on the top as on the bottom. Not the same numbers, just the same squares. I thought perhaps that was the only way the puzzle could be solved, but it's not the case. Yet, I have never seen one for which this wasn't true. Does anyone know why?

North of Longmont, near I25 mile marker 247 is a complex of radio and cell phone transmission apparatus. This is obviously the highest point along I25, so the reason is clear. What is creepy is the people that park their vehicles along the frontage road at that spot with their own antennae and equipment on the car roofs or in the trunks, some of it seemingly complex. Seeing these people with their headsets gives me the feeling that they are listening in on (stealing?) radio or cell phone transmissions... what is going on?
