Rayzor to play vs. Penguins; Lappy out again

No surprise here: Avalanche coach Tony Granato confirmed today that Andrew Raycroft would start in goal Saturday against Pittsburgh.

All Raycroft has done is win six games in a row. His best game, by far, was Thursday when he made 43 saves in the 2-1 win over Chicago.

Not much else happened at practice today.

Milan Hejduk didn't practice, but he's fine. Saw him walking around without any apparent problems. Granato said he just wanted to rest Hejduk, who plays a lot of minutes and usually stays on the ice a lot longer than most teammates when he practices. Hejduk also won't get the benefit of the three-day break for the All-Star Game, since he'll be playing.

No changes on the injury front. Sakic, Stastny, Foote and McCormick remain on IR and Laperriere (back) didn't skate. He'll miss his third game in a row Saturday.

Trying to figure out what's wrong with the Penguins. How can a team with Crosby and Malkin have one more point than the Avalanche? They miss Gonchar on defense and are giving up a ton of goals but should still be a lot better.

It'll be interesting to see how Raycroft and Co. handle the Pens.
