Hejduk feeling better

The encouraging news for the Avalanche is that right wing Milan Hejduk didn't suffer a broken jaw in Saturday's game in St. Louis.

Hejduk, who leads the team with 20 goals, left the game in the first period after a big hit from Blues forward Brandon Crombeen and didn't return.

The Avalanche flew home after the game for its annual charity luncheon today.

The team said Hejduk was feeling a lot better today and would be re-evaluated Monday before practice.
