Hejduk suffers jaw injury
As if the Avalanche could afford to lose another player to injury, leading goal-scorer Milan Hejduk suffered a jaw injury in the first period of tonight's 4-1 loss in St. Louis.
Hejduk, who has 20 goals, was injured during a collision in the Blues end and didn't return.
Coach Tony Granato said after the game that Hejduk would be re-evaluated Sunday after the team returned to Denver. The Avalanche has a charity function downtown on Sunday.
"Hopefully, it's nothing too serious," Granato said.
