Keep an eye on...

As you watch the first-round unfold over the next few hours the two players who will have the most to say how the round starts to unfold will LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey and Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan.

The Rams, in the No. 2 spot, have been wrestling with the decision for a week. And if they don't accept one the trade offers they have been fielding, they are set to choose between Dorsey and Virginia defensive end Chris Long, with Long having edged forward in their thinking as of Friday night.

Dorsey is this draft's best player so if the Rams don't grab him that will start the trade winds blowing. Teams that entered the morning believing they didn't have a chance at the most decorated player in college football this past season will give it a try.

Ryan, too, will cause some potential movement if the Falcons don't select him at No. 3. If the Falcons pass and instead choose another player -- most likely the one the Rams don't take, especially if Dorsey is available -- anybody wanting a quarterback knows they have to get ahead of the Ravens at No. 8.

That will shape the top half of the round.
