More help up front

With their first pick of the draft's second day the Broncos selected Bowling Green C/G Kory Lichtensteiger with the 108th pick overall.

Lichtensteiger was a four-year starter in the school's spread offense, two seasons at guard, two at center. A really smart player who never gives up on a play. With Chris Myers having been traded it gives the Broncos a little insurance inside, a swing player they could play at both positions.

Lichtensteiger started 48 consecutive games to close out his career and performaned well enough in the classroom to have been a finalist for the Draddy Award, which is the academic Heisman.

But at 6-2 1/2, 298 pounds, he fits the Broncos scheme and Mike Shanahan has routinely said he wants players who can think up front and this is a player who played as smart as anyone in the draft.
