So I am reading the Eddie Royal has been impressive at training camp. Does he have the making of a 2nd or 3rd receiver this year in addition to special teams duties? Who else has caught the coaches' eye as a potential key rookie contributor other than Clady?

Am I the only one who thinks Darell Hackney looks better than Patrick Ramsey? Ramsey seems nervous when he's in the game and Hackney seems to be a gamer.

I'm concerned about DE's and our pass rush especially our recent draft picks. How are they progressing are they going to be able to generate a consistant pass rush because from what i've seen i'm a little nervous however i understand that it's the preseason and maybe there trying different techniques.

I watched Selvin Young last year and thought that he had great speed and vision. Do you see him as a 25 carries per game back, or are the Broncos just waiting for other backs to get healthy to eventually replace him.

Are Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder busts? I don't understand why they can't crack the starting lineup, or at least get into the rotation.

It is so funny to read about Darell Hackney and how he should be the number two quarterback, This guy is short, overweight, and wasn't even drafted. He comes in and plays against third and fourth stringers, please, he won't even make the team, let alone back up quarterback. If you want to challenge Ramsey bring in Chris Simms.

Only question I have is: 7-9 or 8-8?
Defense: 2 new safeties, 2 hurt cornerbacks (fine, I'll give you they'll probably be healthy by Reg season); untested linebacking crew (new middle linebacker, new strongside {hurt} and DJ at weak); defensive line of either hurt, unknowns, or unproductive 2nd year players. Exactly where they finish below 25th in the league is up for debate....
Offense: OL is a mess: 2 unproven tackles, center is hurt (fine, Weigman is a good back-up), guards that are so, so; no tailback that has the ability to bang out the tough yards or carry the load (man, how I miss TD!) and no outstanding FB to lead; the recieving TE is hurt, best WR is suspended for the 1st 3 games, the other guys are either veterans that are 3rd recievers or an untested rookie; QB has diabetes (proud of his volunteer work for the cause!), and is only entering his 2nd year with only a half year of starts behind him.
6-10 maybe????

Is the RCN going to produce a new schedule wallpaper? The only one out there is for last year. Thanks

@Eiesha - Because he's 31 and averages something like 3.3 yards a carry. I'd sooner see them resign Terrell Davis or myself.
I do have a question though . . . you think Bowlen will give us half price beers tonight? I know he can't control the weather, but c'mon. He's already charging us out the ace for preseason tickets, the least he could do, if we're going to sit in a chilly rain, is get us drunk.

I realize this question/comment is not the most relevant right now but as a life long Bronco die hard this thing has been eating at me for a long time and I have to get it off my chest; could the team please do something about the all whites on the road, blue pants, orange shoulders, some change I don't really care about the details. All I know is the team has always had a weak, lame look on the road, they look like pushovers in all white, they need visual weight. Regardless of what anyone says I'm convinced tougher looking uniforms have an impact on team psychology. Please pass this on to Pat Bowlen.

My question is, "How can a person call themselves a fan of a certain team and before the season even starts say they're going to suck?" I can see it somewhat if your team sucks consistantly, but this time of year you are supposed to be filled with optimism.

During Saturday's game I saw Moss and Crowder in very late in the 4th quarter when most players seem to be fighting to make the team. Are the coaches trying to get them more reps or are they in trouble in only their second year? Also, they didn't seem to dominate the Cowboys 3rd string OLine from my point of view.

Here are my thoughts so far:
Royal looks like an NFL receiver.
Cutler looks healthy.
Clady will get better with time and is a keeper.
I still don't see the push in the pass rush.
New linebackers...jury still out
Prater....jury still out
Looks like Jarvis Moss is a BUST..
Torain was a big injury because it sounds like everyone was real high on him.

The road jerseys are fine, what needs to change is the home jerseys. I hate the fact that they don't they wear their orange jerseys. Come on Bowlen, bring back the Orange Crush!!! So I guess my question is who makes the decision on what jersey is to be worn on gamedays?

Why do the Broncos only have one place kicker in training camp? Matt Prater clearly has the strength to kickoff, and kick 50+ yard field goals. The issue he has seems to be mental toughness. Why not force him into weeks of competition competing for his job? This could prepare him mentally for those 4th quarter game winning field goal opportunities.

Second question:
Where is Tony Scheffler? For the last 8 games of the year he was a top 10 TE in the NFL. Clearly he and Cutler have chemistry on the field, yet he is not playing with Cutler's unit? Is he in Shanahan's doghouse?

My question is how many players at each position to make the 53 man roster?
WR-6 RB-4 FB-2 QB-2 OT-4 OG-3 C-2 TE-4 = 27
DE-4 DT-4 LB-6 CB-5 S-5 = 24
ST-2 = 2
Now I must answer the above;
Bruno we already now you are negative so please do not post.
Smyth, Moss is real close to a bust but Crowder is rotating at DE.
Jeev is right, Hackney will not make the 53. Ramsey has a death issue and his wife gave birth. I say his focus is not sharp. But he does get $3 mil/yr so lets get back to work.
And Scott, Prater is very reliable. He has missed one kick of 44. The other was the LS fault. O'Brien know what he has.

Question re: Ryan Clady's contract.
Various reports have Ryan's deal at 5 yrs $17.5m with $11.5m guaranteed. According to NFLPA Ryan's base salaries for the 5 years come to $10m. How is $11.5m guaranteed, what kind of bonuses did he receive and what's his cap hit for the 1st 2 years?
Also with the releases of Travis Henry and John Lynch after June 1st how does the dead money work for either. John has approx $900k and Travis $4.8m in outstanding bonuses.

I have two questions:
1) Like a lot of other fans here, I'm worried about the development of Tim Crowder and especially Jarvis Moss. In this preseason they can't even make an impact against second- and third-stringers. Crowder looked promising last season. What's going on?
2)Is Tom Nalen's knee issue worse than the Broncos are letting on? I feel like this is turning into the same situation as Ben Hamilton last season, when we were told he would return from his concussion any time but he ended up on IR. From what I hear, Nalen is still limping noticeably.

With RB Ryan Torain out until at least week 7 (as reported in this newspaper), why aren't the B's looking at Shaun Alexander? I think the past few seasons have been proof enough that we need someone who can stuff it in from inside the 5 yard line. Additionally, with his presence in the backfield it should open up the passing game.
