What others are saying about Broncos-Raiders

The Broncos' revamped defense earned more than a few confidence points with a strong performance in last week's win at Atlanta.

If form holds true, the defense should earn a few more against Oakland on Sunday.
The Broncos' AFC West Division rival have struggled offensively, continuing a trend that has worn the patience of Raider Nation, an issue discussed in a story on insidebayarea.com, the website of the Oakland Tribune.

"We'll have a breakthrough," Raiders coach Tom Cable told the publication, "and you keep fighting until you do it. If you give up on it, it will stay the same or get worse."
Added quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo, "If we just execute the way we're capable of and play at that level that we're capable of, then we're not having this conversation and people aren't worried about it," Tuiasosopo said. "The bottom line is, you either have to go, 'OK, we're going to stop it, move forward, or just keep doing more of the same.'" To read the entire story, visit:

* Broncos coach Mike Shanahan shared glowing praise for Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha during his weekly press conference on Wednesday, repeating those compliments during a conference call with the Oakland media. Word of Shanahan's praise finally reached Asomugha, who told the Oakland Tribune, "Oh, he's lying. He's going for me, I'm sure." To view more of the Tribune's Raiders notes, visit:

The Broncos are a passing team, but they'll have to run the ball this week. The Raiders are far better against the pass than the run, having allowed at least 192 rushing yards in four of their last five games. The Broncos have at least three tailbacks to rotate in and stay fresh if they want to run the ball often. BTW, saw some cool widgets at statbeast. Take a look!
