Rams upset bid blocked
Hindsight is great, just ask CSU guard Marcus Walker.
CSU had a chance in the final seconds of Wednesday night's Mountain West Conference game to upset conference-leading Utah at Moby Arena.
The game was tied at 73 and CSU had possession of the ball.
Walker, who carried the Rams with 22 points, dribbled the ball across the lane and attempted to get off a short jump shot just before the buzzer. Utah's 7-foot-2 center Luke Nevill blocked the shot and sent the game into overtime.
It was the seventh block of the game for Nevill and the Utes went on to dominate the overtime and escaped with a 89-79 victory.
"I was just trying to play aggressive at the end," Walker said. "I should have just taken the 15-footer. He (Nevill) was blocking everything so I could have played a little smarter on that play."
