Cleaning up graffiti

In order to reduce the graffiti problems ("Graffiti a growing headache for city," March 17), it would behoove the enforcement agencies in the metro area to require the parents of arrested juveniles and the juveniles themselves to do the cleanup work. I guarantee it would reduce the problem if the parents realized they would be forced to do this work without exception or excuse.

GOOD idea...to bad none of our great leaders in Colorado have enough sense to initiate such a clean-up.

I think that is a very smart idea. But, it
would not be enacted as it might serve
to demean the perps, and of course, we
would never want to do that.

You mean hold the parents responsible for their children's misbehavior? This will certainly damage those kid's self esteem. And the parents rights are reduced when you ask them to raise their kids to someone else's standards.

All of you keep tossing around the term "parents" like you assume that the punks who do this sort of thing actually have two. A better term would be "mothers", as I doubt many of them know who their fathers are. And that applies no matter what color they are.

These brats don't have parents; as they are the results of egg and sperm donors, nothing more. Real parents would actually do something to discipline their snot nosed kids.

Put a bounty on taggers. Pesos for brown taggers; bling-bling for crap-scratch-hip-hop taggers. Dollars for white and yellow taggers.
