Bill Johnson defending hit & run driver
OK Mr. Bill Johnson, writer for the Rocky Mountain News. I think that it is nice of you to defend a 15yo accused of hit and run. But I wonder if you would defend him if he ran over your two children and killing one of them?

Anybody surprised Johnson never mentioned the legal status of the 15 year old?

Its Ok to excuse the 15 year old as long as the Parent is charged for the offense...........
Actually, why isn't the parent charged - isn't he responsible for his child?

Posted by c on September 13, 2007 07:59 PMActually - I don't recall seeing ANY article saying the kid was illegal; however, I did see a couple of reports that said he took the truck without permission (of course, how many parents - legal or not - reports GTA against their own kids). I understand that this is a waste of one more life (which is the point Johnson's column was trying to make. On the other hand, if the kid had stayed there - whether he had permission to have his father's truck or not, and whether he even had a learner's permit and the passenger was a licensed driver or not (I didn't see that mentioned in ANY article)- the charges would have been lower. It was the "run" part of the hit and run that will rightly cost him his freedom.

Illegals DO NOT watch their kids period!!!! 3 illegal familys moved into our neighborhood and let their kids play on the busy street at all hours. Some of these kids were only 3 and 4 years old!!!!! I was relieved when two of the familys got kicked out of the rentals.
Illegal Mexicans don't care, they are to busy stealing our jobs, our identities, robbing our homes, murdering our citizens and trashing up our neighborhoods. Why worry about just one illegal Mexican kid being killed? If the mother can get her pregnant butt off the cell phone long enough she will just bring another kid in the world to be ignored and run over while she gets pregnant again!!!

Would you leave a loaded gun laying around if your son seemed to be interested in and had played with it before?

Can you really blame Mexico for wanting open borders? They are getting rid of these people, making Mexico a better place to live. I am so glad to see the pedulum swinging in our favor. True, the politicians see votes, and the businesses see dollars. But we will win in the end and I believe when it gets "bad enough." We will take to the streets and take our country back. When enough people are voval enough, the politicians will listen to us (want our votes). When the illegal hiring businesses lose enough revenue, they will change. Be loud! Be Persistent! Be Active! (Don't use businesses that hire illegals). This is OUR country.
