Paul Campos

Steve Schweitzberger of Littleton writes:

Re: Paul Campos column in the September 4th Rocky Mountain News.
Always interesting to scout the philosophy of the political left. Hard for me to tolerate, however, that I must to respond to left-columnist Paul Campos through his e-mail address at a public-funded educational institution, the University of Colorado.
Campos tried in vain to bait Giuliani Republicans with comparisons of Republican abandonment of Senator Craig. There is no way to compare legal heterosexual choices with illegal homosexual solicitation.
Is Campos also against cowboys being “entrapped” by Denver police-women decoying as street hookers during the National Western Stock Show? Should Denver police masquerade homosexual impersonators on the public sidewalk near gay bars to entrap fun-seeking delegates attending the 2008 Democratic convention? I understand there will be a large contingency of bisexuals and homosexuals among those delegates.
Sorry Campos, all you did is reveal the impossible arguments by the left for government interference in freedom of association based on behavior. Call it “orientation” if you will, but your ultimate philosophy is flawed unless you truly believe bisexuals should all pick a side and make an appointment with the transgendered Trinidad surgeon who specializes in physical reorientation.

What is he trying to say? My head hurts...

Posted by on September 11, 2007 02:53 PM

No point, no sentence structure, and no understanding of CU's financing...

Somewhat shows the mentality of the letter writer to actually admit he reads the Campos line of unintelligible faux intellectual drivel. I think ol' Steve is just a s whacked out as Paul.

Oh, and by the way, Steve...you come off as a true homophobic bigot.

And your good ol' boy fellow rednecks at the stock show, they should take just as much care as the homosexual on the prowl. As absurd as a lot of laws are -- in place and enforced by bigots like -- they have to be obeyed.

Well, I am not sure what is Steve trying to say, but, I will attempt to clear up at least one concern he seems to be having: Specifically: that he thinks he 'has to respond... at the public-funded educational institution...'

you don't HAVE to respond to Mr. Campos at the publically-funded educational institution. You chose to do so. If it bothers you so much, which it seems to do, I would suggest, not responding to Mr. Campos at all, anymore. It might help.

:-)

Why would the RMN print such a lousy letter. It is a rambling mess that makes no sense at all. Steve should take a class or something.

Steve Schweitzburger hit the nail on it's big flat head. I'm glad to see the News print a letter that put things in perspective when hacks like Paul Campos goes off into deep space making apples to oranges comparisons trying to convince the feeble minded and probably mostly himself that he has a grasp on the political realities that elude him and all left wing socialist in this country.

He must have been a sub-standard quota journalism major that was allowed to graduate from college.
As a Hispanic myself he and others of my heritage are sell outs to the left who only use us and in the end destroy our families, dignity and are a Judas goat to lead us into dependency for the few crumbs the top white elitists throw our way.
Mr. Campos should go live in Cuba where Castro can help him achieve his true potential.

Hey Blinders could you explain what it is that Steve is trying to say?

No Blinders

You underestimate the travesty of Paul Campos by classifying him as a "sub-standard quota journalism major that was allowed to graduate from college."

This intellectual midget is a professor of law at CU. If he writes this kind of garbage for the newspaper (and he does on a regular basis - garbage), imagine the low quality of legal thinking his law students are supposedly learning from?

Hey 01:24 Can you you expain what Campos is always trying to say in his editorials? We would all like to know.
What's the matter? Scared to come out of the shadows? Use your name next time!

Was calling him a "Hack" too kind also?

"Mongoose
Was calling him a "Hack" too kind also?"

YES -- but, I didn't want to chastise too much in one posting. Campos must be working on the cheap -- if not free -- for the RMN to keep him on after cutting real writers from the payroll.

Apparently they (RMN) couldn't afford to even keep those of the hack level and scraped the bottom of the barrel to throw the garbage Campos produces on the empty newsprint.

Next time, I won't hold back and will tell you what I really think...

While not afraid, nor ashamed, to answer your question, I must ask why you ask?

Posted by mongoose on September 13, 2007 02:51 PM

Just curious. I have read many of your posts and... I am intrigued. That's all.

So...?

I'm the managing partner of a venture capital and development consortium. Been in this position for a little over two years.

Five years ago I took an early retirement from a major multinational oil company where I lead a team concentrating on the evaluation of various national, regional and international policies and activities in order to design scenarios of what might be happening in the near future around the world.

I use the forum as a way to relax and exchange ideas with people in general - a personal therapeutic tool to provide not only relaxation, but a grounding in reality, rather than the desired.

mongoose:--

My husband is interested in joining some others businesses and making one large one. Any advice, hint, hint.. lol

Make sure you have a detailed and viable business plan to go along with a history demonstrating stability, growth and innovation. It would help if at least one of the group members had a solid and workable knowledge of financing when presenting your package to potential financiers.

If you end up going with venture, remember that you'll be selling a big portion of the business to the capital group behind it. Some offer buyout windows down the road, and some don't. Be very cautious in committing to venture capital.

I'll arrange to take a look at your package if you meet our minimum participation level -- $50 million.

I don't think we fit your requirements! We're still just talking about it and have a long way to go before we are ready to go to banks or anyone.

mongoose,

Is there a way I can contact you? I recently retired from the economic department of a large multinational. I'm already looking for something to fill in blank time!

I guess what I'm looking for is some sort of part time, or per project based, consulting work.

Please let me know if interested and I'll arrange to present my credentials to you.

My firm was created and is funded by a consortium of financial institutions, hedge funds, etc. We do the initial vetting, up to and including viability forecasts of projects that are submitted to us through their Exec Council.

We rely on many contractors to vet and evaluate projects before submitting the results back to the EC for final decision. If you believe your background could possibly fit into our needs, I would love to take a look at your credentials.

Give me a phone number or email address where I can contact you and we'll do a little initial exploration.

As a PS, I'm playing hooky the rest of the day. If you decide to provide contact information -- and I recommend you keep it minimal considering our open forum -- do so on this thread. I can get it from the archives if it falls off the board.
