Salazar merits thanks for anti-war efforts
Monday, October 1 at 12:01 AM

Sen. Ken Salazar deserves Coloradans’ thanks for his recent statement supporting a significant withdrawal of troops and possibly cutting off funding for anything but bringing U.S. troops home from Iraq (“Salazar out to end U.S.combat role,” Sept. 18).
With a growing majority of Coloradans opposing the ongoing war in Iraq, as well as countless lives lost and more than $450 billion spent, it’s time for everyone in Colorado’s congressional delegation to support plans to the end the war.
Salazar’s commitment to visit Iraq and speak directly with soldiers is respectable and we’re glad that he has taken important steps to strengthen his previous support for the Iraq Study Group recommendations. It’s our hope that others who represent Colorado on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Wayne Allard, will stop supporting President Bush’s endless war. Colorado, Iraq and our troops all deserve better.

"Colorado, Iraq and our troops all deserve better."
This is sooooo true. When an open boarder, thief like Salazar tries to make decisions based on emotion all the while stabbing his constiuants in the back on his representation. Colorado and America deserves so much better then this.

Once again the left praise a man who would micro manage a war and hamstring our troops. Salazar neds no praise, instead a recall would more appropriate.

thank you ken for being in lock step with uncle teddy and pelosi and kerry and clinton and turbin or durbin. you have shown that you are really a pawn and have no balls as a man let a lone a person. we still rememeber all of those warm and fuzzy things you lied about to get elected. please repeat them to us again as we are starting to loose that same warm feeling from all of your lies.

I wish Shamnesty Salazar had "VISITED" the following: Vietnam where I had to serve in 3 deployments, while he sought the "priest hood"; my lawful social security disability claim which was denied by his Mexican Mafia crony, Denver SSA judge Antionette Martinez; my $150K SBA federal backed business loan, which was denied to me by his cronies DeHerrera, Linda "Wonder Woman" Valdez, and Alan Ramirez (Colorado Enterprise Fund-CEF, just because of the skin I'm in; Antionette Fuentes-Knapp (Qwest EO attorney), who stole my federal jobs and contracting benefits at Qwest and for good measure, blackballed, blacklisted, and red-lined me too; the nullified "votes" of N. E. Denver blacks, which was caused by criminal illegal Mexicans who registered and voted, due to Shamnesty's and the GOP's slick N.E. Denver redistrcting; reducing black politicians (happy Negroes) like Hancock, Obama, Wedgeworth-less, Groff, Marshall, T. Carroll, Jones, Milliner, and Poole, to "tooth-less" tigers; and criminal illegal Mexicans running black folks out of Montbello, due their ghetto-tization of neighborhoods. US Constitution: Blacks' constitution "SUCKS" because it is written in pencil. When I'm resurrected, I want the Hispanics' (illegal or legal) constitution.

Thank you 06:30 for being one of the mindless sheep who follow George Bush and his corrupt administration. Or perahaps you are Rush (I hate phoney soldiers) Limbaugh follower. Regardless, you show yourslef as another gutless rightwinger, a 'chickenhawk' who loves the war as long as he doesnt have to fight in it. Coward. Go see the wizard and get a brain.

Let Salazar and his liberal crowd, who are fully invested in an American defeat, cut off the funding of our troops. Like most libs, he and his cowardly bunch simply don't have the nads. That Kerry-like, Benedict Arnold backstab would deliver the WH into Repub. hands for the next century.

Both Salazars ( Represent Hispanics only!) deserve nothing but a kick to the curb by voters!! They are frauds!!! Remember to vote against them when they come up for re-election!!!!

dimman you are so right that one should hate a phoney soldier like jesse macbeth and all of his 44days in the military. but remember in those 44 days he was in iraq and won a purple heart and saw so many things that are aginst his beliefs.
guess you should go somewhere else other than a dumocrat blog for the truth but then again the truth doesnt matter to you or your like. one of your buddies named murtha has to go infront of a judge to show why he called some Marines murders when they are not but then again the charge is more important than the truth.

While I respect Senator Salazar's intentions, they are misplaced and incorrect. This war in Iraq is happening regardless of how many people wish it weren't. If US forces leave Iraq now, we will be aiding and abetting genocide. Those who want to evacuate Iraq are selling the kind of peace enjoyed by the Armenians between 1915 and 1917, the Rwandans in 1994, and by the Sudanese right now.

I spent years working with Southeast Asian refugees who fled the "worker's paradise" establilshed after the US left that fight. I have no desire to have to learn yet another language thanks to those who confuse the absence of international conflict with peace.

Salazar should (as an American) support withdrawls of illegal aliens from our country. But being mexican and giving up is more important to him than citizens and our country.

Calling all war supporters. Please. Please. Tell me what YOU are doing to support this war. Are you paying for it? (You can send checks to Uncle Sam marked with a special note that your contribution is for the war.) Are you contributing to the cause of the thousands of Iraqi refugees fleeing their
country? Will you be supporting the Iraqi refugees who are coming to Denver soon? Share with me how you are supporting them. Are you in favor of increasing the federal budget to pay for more veterans benefits? Did you call your Congressional Representative and urge them to increase veteran's benefits? Are you supporting the wounded troops in any way who will suffer for years to come physically and mentally? How? Are you lobbying your Congressional Representatives and President Bush to institute the draft so we have more troops and current enlistees do not have to be redeployed over and over? Were you a
supporter of the recent bill written by Senator Webb? Please. Please. Tell me what you are doing to support the war. You. Personally. How is your life different in your cause to support the war. Tell me.

JJ - right on. I have never seen so many "support" a war by slapping magnetic ribbons and bumper stickers on their cars.
If we really want to support the war/troops:
- raise taxes to pay for the war and care of our returning soldiers
- start the draft back up - with no exclusions for college students or marginal health issues (Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, etc.)
- ration gas

Any takers? Anyone at all?

Reid, et al said it long after McCain said it: Why can't you accept Senator John McCain's announcement in 2003 (2003) "The war in Iraq is lost?"
