Rally to protest war wasn’t covered

What, the media should report that less than 1/3000 of the population in the US, stood outside in 13 cities, to do NOTHING?
Ms. Highland, how is that "news?"

Sounds like they did quite a bit to me, but then what do you expect from the conservatively dominated media. They are and have been a bunch of lap dogs for this administration.
Posted by GK on November 2, 2007 02:30 PMGK,
Anyone honesetly believing that the media is conservatively dominated, need some serious medical treatment.
Posted by jgd777 on November 2, 2007 02:49 PMI drove by those morons , and the only news worthy item of the day would have been how they illegally posted signs on public property and tried to blockl traffic at Broadway and Colfax.
These hacks and koolaid drinkers who are the first to cry out for their rights while oppressing those who oppose thier way of thinking did not deserve any coverage as it was all old news.
For once I would have to applaud the News and Post for not covering this story.
I would hardly call the media conservative, nor would I necessarily call them liberal either. Look through the history of the media and the relationship with the Executive Branch and you will see that the media tends to "protect" the executive.
From FDR's illness, to JFK's marital indiscretions, it is usually the realm of the editorial comments and cartoons that dare to speak up or out against any administration.
However, to get back to the point of why the media would need to cover an anti war rally, they go on EVERY SINGLE DAY outside the White House in DC. I would hardly say that an anti war rally, that draws less WORLD WIDE than the parade for the World Champion Red Sox, is hardly a "newsworthy" event.
However, having read today's letters to the editor in Milwaukee, Boston, Chicago and now here in Denver, a similar letter appears in ALL of these papers... Hmmmmmm...
Posted by Dan2 on November 2, 2007 03:29 PMWow! Some people are opposed to the war?!?!
Stop the presses! We've got a big news break here! Let's get the scoop on this one ahead of the Aurora Sentinel.
Lynn,
You are a narcisist. There is much more important news than you standing on a corner with a sign that says "stop the war"
Get a job then get a life
I guess you wanted that posted on the front page as it was in the middle of the paper under the birdcage liner addition
Posted by on November 2, 2007 04:14 PMA bunch of 60's retreads and wannbes hoping for media attention for a pathetic gathering is laughable. Be very glad they didn't cover it. From what I saw when we drove by there was no camera angle that would NOT have shown how thin the crowd really was and how completely silly the leaders looked. Those were the leaders in the front right? One rule of thumb is: "no coverage is much better than coverage that shows your lack of supporters."
Go ahead and protest but don't expect any politician to offer more than lip service. They know the job history of those who made that mistake.
What a pathetic showing of anti war activists.
Is this the best Denver's wackos can do?
They have a long way to go to make the major moonbat league.
http://zombietime.com/sf_anti-war_rally_oct_27_2007/
But they shouldn't worry because these SF seasoned freaks are coming to town for the Dem Convention and some hands on training for hacks like Lynn and Glenn Morris.
The face of the new Progressive Dem party rears its ugly head once again.
Posted by Get Real on November 2, 2007 06:39 PMAnd thank god it wasn't! I bunch of anti-war protestors dragging down the moral of our brave troops who are ACTUALLY there! I sooo wish we would re-instate the darft so you dope smoking hippe chumps would run to Canada where you belong!
Posted by Sheep herder on November 2, 2007 06:49 PMHippie morons...Coppers should club you!!!
Posted by on November 2, 2007 06:52 PMAgreed! I HOPE they recreate 69! I will back the cops 100% if they club those hippie chumps! I cant wait to see it on YOUTUBE!
Posted by on November 2, 2007 06:55 PMIf you want to be "anti" about the war...wait till they get home. My grandparents would have tracked you down and beat you sensless during the big one. Hasnt any of that carried over? What happened to the "greatest generation?" I guess they are just gone...replaced by PS players and the IPOD generation...sad...sad...sad/....
Posted by on November 2, 2007 07:01 PMYep, press "restart" and all is forgiven. Let's you know where they are coming from at least. UNEDUCATED!
Posted by Sheep herder on November 2, 2007 07:03 PMWow get over yourself. No one cares about your stupid anti war rally because we support our troops. I have seen about five posts on this. Support our troops!
Posted by JMO on November 2, 2007 07:41 PMcome on....a group protests and rallies around a majority sentiment about the war?!?
It's not like the vast majority of Americans don't feel the same way.
Posted by jay on November 2, 2007 07:47 PMlynn,Why should they waste the time to show a small bunch of anti-american,ignorant nut cases.Should they show child molesters protesting that raping kids should be legal?

Posted by Keith on November 2, 2007 07:52 PMJMO, right on. Support our troops staying in Iraq until they are all dead.
Posted by Sharon B. on November 2, 2007 11:36 PMSharon B. I think the troops volunteered to go to Iraq.It is real nice that you care so much about them but they are brave and willing to fight for this country. You probably would not understand this because you are a Democrat coward or are you just trying to help the terrorists win the war? Also letter writer Lynn Highland is just another Democrat trying to aid the terrorists.
Posted by An American on November 3, 2007 09:26 AMYeah, the troops should of stayed home, so we could watch Starbucks and McDonalds being blown up by suicide bombers, would have been a lot more entertaining. Oh, the good old days, WTC 93, CIA headquarters shooting, Empire State Building shooting, Egyptair, embassy bombings, USS Cole. Let’s see since 2003, wow, there is one, Afgan Muslim with an SUV killing one, all other attempts thwarted, that Bush is a jerk, takes all the fun away, right lefties?
Posted by Uno on November 3, 2007 10:11 AMThe newspapers have more important events to cover such as Bittany Spears losing a custody battle.
Posted by Stan B on November 3, 2007 12:36 PMPerhaps the RMN should have posted a picture of the rpotest under the Entertainment section. A good headline would be "Local Losers Congregate to Hear Selves Preach, Create Litter".
I've looked for news of the protest all around the Web and found barely a squeak. It was a dismal failure, as were those who participated in it.
Posted by Neal5x5 on November 3, 2007 03:38 PMTrue colors all around. Dissent should be met with billy clubs because certain cowards on this thread have a compensatory need for blood.
Posted by Charles B on November 3, 2007 07:58 PMIf protesters break the law and resist arrest I say billy club away.
Why does it not surprise me that I have to point out this obvious distinction for the coward Charles?
Posted by Get Real on November 3, 2007 09:12 PMOh, so there is no use in protesting if the media is not there to cover it? Classy
Posted by tim on November 4, 2007 07:51 AMWhat's more interesting are the protests in far off places in the world and the protest signs are in ENGLISH!!!! It's even more interesting when very few of those people there speak English. Hhhmm... can you say "staged"????
