Sovereignty of our nation at stake
While most of you go about your daily milieu, our government is seeking to open our borders (as if they’re not already open), create new currency (the “Amero") and give jurisdiction over our seas and ports to the United Nations.
Please get informed and involved. Do you want your children to grow up in the United States of America or in the North American Union, controlled largely by the U.N.?

You're just a bigot.

Posted by CL on November 1, 2007 02:42 PMNo, Mike, there is no such thing as the "Amero" currency, nor is there any sort of plans for it. In fact, the "Amero" is the creation of a Colorado businessman who created it as a sort of personal diversion. No matter what Lou Dobbs ar any of the other right-wingnuts try to tell you, the "Amero" is nothing but a piece of fiction.
Take off the tin-foil hat, put down the kool-aid, and get a life!! Or, at least a clue.
Posted by FU All on November 1, 2007 02:43 PMCL. Where in the following quote from the author did he say that the Amero exists and coined. No where in your plugs does it talk about the proposal of the Amero, just that they do not exist. Plenty of information about creating a North American Union and using a currency called the "Amero" North American Union would supposedly consist of Canada, Mexico and US, opening all borders between them.
So technically you are correct in you post. There is NO Amero to trade currency with. That does not mean that discussions have not occured to create such a currency.

Posted by bwr on November 1, 2007 03:17 PMI wonder if the letter writer uses Reynolds Wrap or a generic store brand aluminium foil? I hear the name brand offers greater protection against radio waves...
Posted by on November 1, 2007 03:31 PMHmm, good question, 3:31!
So, what do you say, bwr? Which brand of tin-foil offers the best protection against those pesky radio waves and CIA mind-control beams?
Posted by FU All on November 1, 2007 03:59 PMFU.......pretty clever you think? Well please learn to read what is said and posted rather than what the hell I wear on my head? I did not say that it exists but gave history from where the idea came from. Key word was discussion.
Not sure what to believe about the whacko from Mexico Vicente Fox. He states that discussions were held. but in think tanks around the world both conservative and liberal, ideas get thrown forward about many topics.
Oh well, but please feel free to throw out the insults dude. Adds credibility to all of your arguments for sure.

Presumablly the letter writer is referring to Bush and Cheney, respectively?
Man, folks like this guy are just like putty in the hands for the powers that be.

Posted by Ben -Former Democrat on November 2, 2007 05:53 AMCan you say, Mile High NAFTA Stadium? Pat Bowlen has proven we are foreign welfare suckers. I want congressional candidate Jared Polis to promise, if elected, he will throw out Denver's illegal foreign trade agreement with Bowlen and Canada. The congress and president are the only folks who can legally cut this deal. The Dixiecrats and their "stadium authority", were the biggest suckers. Bowlen rewarded them for their fraudulent gift, by throwing his political support and money behind "W" in the '04' presidential election. GO JARED!
Posted by 40acresandmymuleandNAMvetbennies on November 2, 2007 07:26 AMI can't afford criminal illegal Mexicans/Hindu-Indians, and Pat Bowlen.
Posted by 40acresandmymuleandNAMvetbennies on November 2, 2007 07:35 AMThere is such a thing as the "Amero". Plates for the currency have been made. The plan is that by 2010 that the ports along the NAFTA highway will be finished and that Canada, Mexico, and the US will be combined. They have been playing around with what the AMERO will look like. This is a fact not a myth. WAKE UP People, billions of dollars have already been promised by the States, such as KS that they will be building the NAFTA ports.

Posted by on November 2, 2007 08:29 AMI know it is useless to use facts when arguing with conspiracy buffs. However, some of us think facts are important. Here are some excerpts from the testimony of Adm. Patrick Walsh, Vice Chief of Naval Operations.
If you are interested in facts and not fantasy you can go to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee web site (http://www.senate.gov/~foreign/hearings/2007/hrg070927p.html) and read all of the testimony.
Our Navy can better protect the United States and the American people if we join the Law of the Sea Convention.
The Law of the Sea Convention is the bedrock legal instrument for public order in the world’s oceans. It codifies, in a manner that only binding treaty law can, the navigation and overflight rights, and high seas freedoms that are essential for the global strategic mobility of our Armed Forces.
His full testimony is available as a PDF. He closes:
In closing, I would like to note that I have been responsible for leading the young men and women of our country in combat. I led strike missions over Iraq in Desert Storm, and as the recent Commander of the United States Fifth Fleet, I led Marines, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. It is my deeply held belief that military leaders have a sacred duty to ensure that the men and women under their command have the tools and training necessary to execute the demanding tasks placed upon them. Right now, as I sit before you, we have an identified deficiency ---not being a Party to the Law of the Sea Convention--- but thankfully it is one that we can easily correct. It is time that we join the Convention. We owe it to them.
The facts, try them on for size.

The links show people letting their imagination freak them out and conjuring up conspiracies.
In the Snopes article Hal Turner says he got images of real Amero coins from a freaked out listener. When it turned out the coins were not legal tender (ie the Harsanyi column) Turner cooks up a conspiracy to discredit him.
Point being, this thing is clearly in tin-foil hat territory.

EVERY POLL SHOWS DEMS WANT OPEN BORDERS AND AMNESTY NOT REPUBLICANS!
This guy/gal is as maleable as the letter writer.
Generously assuming that all the letter writer's complaints re: the government are valid, which party has been in complete control of America government for 6 out of the 7 past years? The GOP. No poll can magically change that, though the GOP is banking its feeble electoral hopes on this type of selective amensia and denial of the die-hards.
