9 a.m. House and Senate convene
Senate FINALLY takes the initial vote on the long-delayed, controversial bill that would cap steep costs on payday loans that help working stiffs cover bills between paychecks. Expect floor amendents to soften the impact on the industry, whose workers have complained the bill will cost them 1,800 jobs.
House takes initial votes on
-- HB 1007 which would bar toll road developers from clouding the property titles of homeowners in the path of proposed highways.
--HB 1123 a bill to regulate morticians.
Senate takes a final vote on a bill prohibiting state employees from striking
1:30 p.m.
House Judiciary Committee hears HB 1351, which would require authorities to preserve DNA evidence in criminal cases.
