Broncos or Ravens?

In the midst of international turmoil and domestic turbulence, the real issues of the day can sometimes get buried.

So here we are: Broncos or Ravens?

The Ravens are one of the NFL's three undefeated teams. Not after tonight. The Broncos run the ball better and Steve McNair has been sketchy the past two weeks. Bad weather, low scoring, home team advantage: Broncos 16-13.

Your pick?

It's my lucky day. Every home NFL team won this week except for St. Louis and Kansas City. I'm 13-0 going into tonights game in my office pool. Remember gambling is illegal at Bushwood, just like marijuana but that hasn't stopped the DA from participating. I've got Denver and the girl who is tied with me has Baltimore. Game on. I say advantage home team, office pool says advantage female as thru week 4, not one male has won this pool yet. Murphy.

Advantage ground game and turn overs. I can see "Mile High" stadium from here and can someone please tell me why there are crews from Vail, Copper Mnt. and Winter Park setting up snow making machines above the stadium?

Greeting from Baltimore. Although the Ravens have a good team, as long as the right Jake Plummer shows up tonite, the Broncos will dominate.

As a matter of fact, amazingly enough, he is STILL a DC councilman and special teams coordinator for the Redskins. His preference is snow games.

    T. Bell and J. Walker each score a TD. J. Elam kicks two FG's and the defense holds the Ravens to 3 FG's.

If history repeats itself, our two most famous snow games were Denver beating Green Bay (we scored early and hung on in an October blizzard) and Denver beating San Fran (the snowball from the stands stopped the winning field goal). I remember another game against the Vikings when a Denver spectator hit a cop with a snowball and they threw out a few Vikings fans. I know, cuz I saw who threw it.

    Denver 17, Baltimore 13, SnowBalls 1

It probably will not be as snowy as the great "SnowBowl" against Green Bay in 84 - I think - as I was at that one. (Could not find the car after the game due to over a foot of snow falling during the game and as much liquor consumed too!!) But it should be good. Jake is the big question mark, but the running game and defense willl be key - as well home field - advantage to Denver. Final: Broncos 17 Ravens 10.

My prediction: Denver 17, Ravens 6. McNair has indeed been sketchy, and our defense is rockin'. If Jake doesn't turn the ball over, Denver should dominate. Wow, is there an echo in here?

It should be an easy victory for the home team.

    Prediction 56-2

The only reason Baltimore scores 2 is because Jake will trip over Ray Lewis's walker in the end zone late in the fourth.

The Broncos have not played a smothering defense like the Ravens this year. Jake will throw 6 interceptions and will be sacked 10 times.

    Ravens 24 Broncos 0

The Chargers softened up the Ravens' D last weekend. The Ravens only moved the ball when the Chargers went into the "Prevent the Win" defense.

If the Broncos play aggressive defense until the end and don't turn the ball over, all should be well for Clan Shanahan.

Ravens 20 - Broncos 13. Prepare to be stunned, Broncos fans...

2 Ravens TD's one by the Offense and one by the Defense plus 2 Sweet Stover Field Goals... Denver gets 2 field goals and... on second thought - that's it! Ravens 20 Broncos 6.

Although Baltimore does know about winter they will not be ready for the weather we have tonight in store for them. 35 and raining....maybe snow.Wind chill of almost -5. Slick, wet and cold, they will go home with a loss to the Broncos. I would say a 21-13 score is about right

The Broncos can not beat two teams when something meaningful is on the line - the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens. This game won't even be close. Final score: Broncos - 9 Ravens - 31
