Rush to $38 million-a-year judgment for Limbaugh

limbaughcontractrtl.jpg

While liberals gnash their teeth, Rush Limbaugh will be cashing in $38 million annually for the next eight years.

Premiere wouldn't disclose details of the deal but Limbaugh gave the information to The New York Times for an article to be published Sunday.

Limbaugh's three-hour show, broadcast from his office in Florida, is heard on some 600 radio stations across the country. More than 14 million people listen to him at least once a week, according to Talkers magazine. Sean Hannity is second with more than 13 million listeners.

"This is exactly where I want to be, doing what I was born to do, with an amazing audience and phenomenal support from affiliate stations and sponsors," Limbaugh said in a statement. "I'm having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have."

A New York Times Magazine cover story to be published on Sunday affords an inside look into the personal and professional life of the conservative icon.

Some highlights:

Limbaugh on why he will reluctantly support McCain: ''It's like the Super Bowl...you root for the team you hate less. That's McCain.''

Limbaugh on how he plans to take on Obama: ''I'll approach Obama with fearless honesty...He's a liberal. I oppose liberals. That's all that's involved here.''

Limbaugh's tactics for doing so: Chafets reports on Limbaugh's appointment of his associate, Bo Snerdly, as the "Official Obama Criticizer" of his show. "Snerdly introduced himself as an ''African-American-in-good-standing-and-certified-black-enough-to-criticize-Obama guy,'' and declared that he was speaking, ''on behalf of our E.I.B. brothers and sisters in the hood.'' The bit was typical Limbaugh -- confrontational, deliberately insensitive and funny. It was also a declaration of independence. Whatever special courtesies John McCain might plan to extend to Barack Obama, Limbaugh is going to conduct his air war, as he always has, by his own rules of engagement."

On Living Limbaugh: "There are five homes -- all of them his -- on the property. The big house is 24,000 square feet. Limbaugh lives there with a cat. He's been married three times but has no children."

Sounds like he has become part of the elite that the right complains so much about. Of course the majority of leaders from the right are the most elitist people on the planet. It's their red neck followers who don't seem to get that.
Why do you think they always support tax cuts for the rich... because they are the rich idiots. Maybe someday you will wise up and stop voting against you own best interests. Dems try to protect the middle class, repubs try to protect the rich.

Isn't his show rated #1 with more listeners than all the Liberal talk shows put together?

Come to think of it, isn't Foxs News also the #1 rated T.V. News Cast than CNN, MSNBC, CBS all combined?

What does this tell us all?

It's all about ratings. Rush is making lots of money using the big lie propaganda technique that Hitler made famous. He could care less about his ditto heads as long as they continue to listen, and he's laughing all the way to the bank. If you gave him an enema, you could bury him in a match box.

What a great american huh. People that listen to this idiot are brain dead, drooling, slack jawed, doe eyed people, and shaggy is the poster child for the right. A complete idiot who believes what ever anyone on the right says, even when its debunked over and over. He provides daily comic relief here for me.

I have the killer R30 tour DVD I'll let you borrow, it's a must see for big fan like you. Shoot me an email at blackdogmaybe@yahoo.com and I'll get it to you. I almost feel bad for people who worship Rush Lintbag when he retires from the air and writes his book " thanks for making me rich, it's my opinion radio, I'll tell you anything you want to hear jackass ."
Then he'll follow-up with another book, " can't believe you bought my first book jackass." and then the cycle will just continue until Shaggy doesn't have anymore shelf space!

Clark made it damn clear that McCains military service was OUTSTANDING you nimrod. He also made it clear to anybody with an I.Q reaching double digits that, just because you served military DOES NOT make you qualified to be president, which McCain has proved countless times with his moronic voting record and smooching dubbya's butt through out a war based on deceit and lies from cheney and rummy.

It's a sad day when a narcotics-popping, draft-dodging paper tiger, one who has never contributed anything meaningful to society, gets paid this large an amount.

It's a sad refelection on how many gullible people (his listeners) there are in this nation. There's enough of them to make his show (along with the shows of the other righy-spun propagandists that litter today's media) among the highest rated things on radio.

    Sad, truly sad.

It is enjoyable, however, to see how pretty much everything that he stands for is getting tossed into the trash by American voters - who, fortunately for America, vastly outnumber the group of righty-sheeple listeners. Rush is going to need to double or triple his illicit drug use after November!
