Where have you gone Mrs. Robinson?

In today's Rocky an article about the Democratic National Convention Committee's Director of Greening's status is hazy. DNCC officials say she's still in and on the payroll while sources say she clashed with DNCC heads and was asked to leave. Either way, it's gotten a lot of attention.

The turmoil over her job caused Denver City Councilman Charlie Brown to ponder the lyrics to Simon and Garfunkel's hit song "Mrs. Robinson."

Here are the lyrics:

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson,
Greenies love you more than you will know.
God bless you, please Green Goddess.
Heaven holds a place for those who demand color-coordinated food.
Hey, hey, hey...
We'd like to know a little bit about you for our files
We'd like to help you learn to help yourself.
Look around you all you see is a stalled wind turbine.
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home in your carbon footprint...
Hide in the hiding place where no one ever goes.
Put it in the pantry with your fiber enhanced cupcakes.
It's a little secret that you love Hollywood KFC.
Most of all you've got to hide it from your PC friends...
Where have you gone Mrs. Robinson.
Our City turns over its 'No-Fry Zone' to you.
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson,
Have you really left and gone away?
Hey, hey, hey.

"Mrs. Robinson" (1968)
With apologies to Simon and Garfunkel
