Bozos of Blitz # 10

I have a lot of fun playing off of Fred and Dean, the two characters in Bozos of Blitz. They are based on a couple of friends of mine who work with me here at the News. Fred always seems to have something a little disparaging to say about the Broncos and, Dean, his counterpart, sees everything through orange colored glasses. The characters are real so it makes writing the Bozos toons a little easier. It almost writes itself in a sense because I can imagine what they might really say to each other in real life.

No. I don't really think the Broncos will lose to the Raiders. But it worked for the gag. I do think that these next few weeks will be interesting ones. The Broncos won one of the two MUST win games (the Steelers) but obviously they have to beat the Chargers as well. The defense was tested but won't face that kind of passing attack again for awhile. That favors the Broncos chances to win their upcoming AFC west games.

Who cares if the Denver defense is going back to its old ways. as long as Plummer - Walker hook up a few times every game they should be good.

    Another great B.O.B......

Am I the only one that thinks it's silly that the Broncos haven't played the Chargers yet? Who is the schedule maker here? Interesting.....

To me, the simple fact that Denver is relying on 2 players to carry the team is not a good idea. They have no running game, no pass rush or pass defense (Champ Bailey's INTs have all been easy picks for him. I could have caught every one too....) If Plummer decides to be his usual reckless self, and Walker has a rough stretch where he gets blanketed....it's game over for the Broncos. I'm going to say it right here.....Denver will not make the postseason. Just a prediction, but I'm sticking with it. I just don't think they are deep enough to overcome injuries or trying to have 2 players carry the whole load.

While the Broncos haven't blown anyone out courtesy of their Defense playing well along with the offense, they are picking up for one another.

When the offense staggered early on, it was the defense that bailed them out. Now it's starting to turn a little more to the offense having to outshoot the opposition to cover for the defense. In the Broncos two losses, the offense let them down at St. Louis, and the defense let them down against Indy.
