The Measuring Stick
I miss Patrick Roy. I miss his desire to compete and win. And I miss drawing him. He would easily be one of my all-time favorites here in Denver and so I'm glad I get to do another cartoon about him...Now Jose Theodore is a whole different deal. When I think of Patrick Roy I think warrior, giving it his all to try and win. When I think of Theodore I think of an over-rated underachiever who would just as soon be seen cavorting with Paris Hilton than winning a hockey game.
This cartoon pretty much sums up my feelings.
The rough draft. I did it quickly and I wanted to show it so you could see how the two images are the same yet very different. I was afraid I got a little too carried away in the final drawing with the detail while the rough sketch was pretty simple. But I came to the conclusion the final drawing does what it needs to.
