Melo and A.I.:The Future

drew0123toon.gif

Imagine. We only got a glimpse. A glimpse into what the Nuggets can look like with Carmelo and Allen Iverson co-existing. It has the potential to be incredible. I know I've gone on record with previous cartoons about how dangerous I thought it was to bring A.I. into the Nuggets mix. But everything I have seen and heard since the trade makes me think and hope this whole thing will work out. Some of what I saw last night was just amazing. Maybe life without football won't be so bad afterall.

My deadline was tight (I drew right after the game was over) and I had a spelling problem on extraordinaire which I had to fix and resend the cartoon. Overall it went pretty well. I also drew the cartoon in a new size to fit into our newly redesigned paper. I'd love to read your comments on what you think of the changes we have made to try and make the Rocky a better, more readable product.

To make the rocky better you need to have it as a Sunday option instead of the horrid and unreadable post. Oh, and draw some good cartoons too.

    Hmmmm......
The Nuggies go and beat a Memphis team that is absolutely terrible and has been missing their best player for the entire season....
They are tied at 106 with 2 minutes to play against a Seattle team who's record is 16-25. If Denver struggles this much with a team with this kind of record....they will never survive against any kind of decent squad, period.
How about we let them play a real team before we go off popping the corks on the bubbly. There will be no championship in Denver for the Nuggets. Neither Anthony nor Iverson plays defense. Campy is made of glass and breaks down too often. Nene will never, ever, ever live up to his contract. Martin is wasted space and money.
No matter the result of this game tonight....the Nuggets should be ashamed that they cannot close out a struggling team like Seattle. It shows a lot about the fact that the Nuggets are a bunch of individuals and not a team.

I find it somewhat interesting (and funny) that Drew, well....drew Anthony and Iverson with facial expressions that make them look completely stoned out of their minds.
I cannot wait to see something happen to either one of them that makes them look like the complete idiots they are. There is a reason Detroit passed on Anthony in the draft. There is a reason Philly traded Iverson.
    They are both poison.
I loved watching the Nuggets struggle to close out the awful Sonics. It shows that in all the time George Karl has run this team, they have made ZERO progress. In fact, they are probably a worse team now. In fact.....they are not a team. They are individuals. And not good ones either.

    Oh...by the way....

the Nuggets are not a team.

Just wanted to clear that up for everyone.

    They are just individuals. Cool?

Let me know if you all have any problem whatsoever understanding that point.

    message to TOM-
If you are so anti-nuggets, get out of town. You thinkthe nuggets are worse now than before Karl?!? are you out of your mind? The Nuggets have the chance to join the elite status of Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio when these guys start gelling. I think you either need to start thinking positive, or check your tv to make sure you are actually watching the nuggets and not some has-been team. Which by your previous comments, would not be too far off to assume. GO NUGGETS!!!!!!

    Travis...

Um. Kiss my tush, would you?

You bet I'm anti-Nuggets. The Nuggets front office is trying to be the New York Knicks and buy a championship. Memo.....it doesn't work that way. The Nuggets have a collection of overpriced players. That's it bud. Face the facts. The only thing this Iverson deal has done is shed some temporary light on the city of Denver.
Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Utah, Washington, Cleveland, etc....are all miles and YEARS ahead of Denver. The Nuggets are at best a middle of the road franchise. Denver has a prima donna in Iverson, a crybaby wuss in Anthony, a fragile Camby, a hobbled, WAYYYY overpaid Nene, and a guy named Kenyon Martin who has 83-year old knees. Add a fencepost of a player in Reggie Evans and a bunch of no talent bench warmers, and you have...well...Nothing but a loser of a team. The only reason they are even sniffing a playoff spot is because other teams are run ever worse than Denver is run. And hey....if you don't like my comments, don;t read them. Only a true idiot would come back for the bait time and time again.
