Shanahan's Can of Worms

drew0324toon.gif

Just when you think the Broncos offseason can't get any crazier...The Broncos make an attempt to deal Al Wilson for salary cap purposes and he reportedly fails the physical. Now what are the Bronx to do? They've just tried to deal the heart and soul of their defense to no avail which brings all kinds of ripple effects throughout the team. Are they left to simply release him and try to deal with the loss of a team leader or will they now try to find another way to jettison some other salaries on the team? But what then do you do with a player who has failed a physical with another team? And if it is a neck problem which possibly occured last season during that very scary moment we all held our breath through then what do you do? The resolution to this whole thing is sure to shake up a team that needs stability (especially veteran leadership) in the midst of the two team tragedies that have effected the whole franchise.

This could be one of those moves we look back on as a big mistake at a very bad time.

Shanny's time with Denver is rapidly becoming more clear. I think this season will be his last. Any magic he had is far gone. Cutler was a draft mistake. And the running back situation is a mess. I am enjoying the chaos though. Thanks Mike!

Tom, my friend, you are greatly mistaken. Mr.Shannahan is just beginning. Drafting Cutler was the best move Denver has made since trading for a young QB in the early 80's by the name of Johgn Elway. Oh yes, Denver will rise again. Don't you forget that!! OK Pumpkin??

How anyone thinks drafting Cutler was a mistake is beyond me, Cutler is the real deal. Cutler makes throws that Jake didn't have the talent to make, down the middle over the linebacker in fron of the db. Foe Jake that would have been in interception to the linbacker. It is time for Wilson to hit the road. He is a terrible tackler and he is a step slow and his body is done. How many more tackles would Wilson have if he had jus tlearned to wrap up.

Cool by me. It's nice to be noticed and honored in this fine way. I'll still stand by my Cutler statement. He's the next David Carr. He'll get sacked a ton and will continue to make bad pass reads that will lead to interceptions. Yeah, he's got a big arm, and that'll get him on ESPN from time to time, but he'll be gone within 3-4 years if not much sooner. Very overrated QB. There just aren't enough Manning's and Brady's to go around. And you know what? Shanahan didn't trade for Elway, so let's just toss that argument right out the window shall we?

Tom, I never said Shanny traded for Elway. IF you go back and re-read you will see I stated trading up and drafting Cutler was the best move Denver has made since trading for Elway. Nothing about Shanny trading for Elway. Ok Pumpkin?

MJ...are you calling me Pumpkin because you're looking for a date? If so, I would suggest you try one of the male escort services in the Denver area. Just check your phone book. Or maybe you should try getting a pen pal at the State Pen. You could hook up after he gets paroled, eh?
Anyway...It just seemed obvious that you were looking for a little "bear love" by your Pumpkin remark. Good luck with that.

I don't know if Drew ever bothers to read these blogs, but if the blatherings of the idiot below is representative of their quality (and after scanning the last several cartoons, I'd have to say it IS), then please just turn the blog off. Go back to drawing snotty cartoons that reveal your lack of love for Colorado teams, and let the Toms of the world post their garbage where I don't have to see it. BTW, 'Tom', cyber-taunting is not arguing, nor is it logical. You are not debating. You are just that 6 year old kid in the back seat on the highway flipping off other drivers, safe in the knowledge that they cannot do anything about it. Please go play in traffic. Either way, learn to spell.

I think you just might be the perfect "bear" for MJ. Now you two can just have those nice quiet evenings together. A match made in heaven. You can make up little pet names for one another. He already feels compelled to call me Pumpkin, which is quite odd to be sure, but if you are jealous of the name, you can certainly have it instead. I think MJ probably needs you, and you need him. You can have a little blog love affair. Good luck with each other. I hope you find eternal happiness in each others loving arms.

By the way....the Avs are STILL 5 points back!!!!!!!!

    Dear Tom,

Your record speaks for itself. Day after day, you come to this insignificant little corner of the internet. You spout inanities, and then you gleefully crow when you are mentioned in the inanities of others. You proclaim that this trifling chatter somehow attests to your superiority.

Tom, no one of any real value as a human being measures his life in this way. You have no effect on others' lives. If you stopped posting tomorrow, no one would notice anything amiss.

I write this simple truth on a whim. I do not expect any of this to "sink in" or change you in any way. Instead, I expect you to consider this post another tribute, a sign of your power to provoke a response, another coveted tally on your list of irrelevant triumphs.

Consider this post my gift to you. I hope that one more mention of your name in this obscure archive proves to be a highlight of your day.
