My favorite topics to cartoon are those about sports and how they impact our home lives. And, no, this wasn't drawn out of a personal experience. But I've heard it happens.
Since there have been no hockey cartoons, I'm going to put a hex on the Avalanche.
May Joe Sakic, Paul Statsny, and Peter Budaj go down with career ending injuries within the next 2-3 games. Nothing that will keep them from leading normal lives, but something that will keep the Avalanche from being a contender for many years to come.
Ha. Ha.
I hate the Avalanche so much!

Nice.
The NHL and Gary Bettman have dupped the fans of the game again by making a mockery out of the game of hockey. Nice make up call against the Sharks to give Colorado a home town call and "tighten the race". Right Gary? What complete and total B.S.
What's next? Gary has paid off the Oliers to throw the next two games?
God, I so hope the Avs either go on a complete slide, or even better, that said players above get themselves injured, or ....oh...how about this...
The Avs are tied with Calgary on the final day of the season, and Calgary wins in regulation by scoring with 0.01 left on the clock.
Goddamn NHL.
What a joke this league has become.

And still we all wait for Drew to actually draw something positive about the Avs. This streak they are on is nothing short of incredible... and nothing but silence from Drew. Typical.

That's simply because they aren't going to catch Calgary, and it would be a waste of good ink. The Avs have now had their big run. No team in the NHL is going to go this long without losing their next game. I hope Edmonton sticks it to them bigtime. Maybe some Oiler will jam an elbow into Sakic's ear and knock him out cold, or maybe a puck will nail Budaj in the foot and put him out for the year. Now that Paul Statsny's streak is history, he's due for a big slump. Simply, the Avs got hot too early. It's all downhill from here.

Since the blogs have been a little slow, I just wanted to ask one question.
Why do NBA players who are earning MILLIONS of dollars a year need a daily allowance of $106? What on earth is this for? Stripper money? Something for the arcade?
I think these guys already make FAR too much for the hour they run up and down a court. Maybe they should consider taking a homeless person or two to dinner with that "allowance."
Jesus the NBA sucks. What a joke.
