25 Years of Drew

25 years. It's hard to believe it's been that long. It seems like only yesterday when I sat in the press box at Mile High stadium for the very first time. I've been blessed no doubt. I've been able to live out my dream in this incredible city and state. I've been able to draw about Super Bowl wins (let's not talk about the losses) a couple of Stanley Cup championships and the birth of Denver's first Major League baseball team. None of this would have been possible, of course, without you, the readers of the Rocky Mountain News. Thank you for 25 amazing, wonderful, terrific years.
In the coming days I'll be posting a Q and A online. In the meantime, enjoy the cartoons from the last 25 years. You can vote on your favorite, and as always feel free to leave your comments.

Drew,
Grew up on and always loved your stuff. Just got done looking at the selections for the 26 years and remembered a couple that I didn't see...One of my favorites was right after Ventura stormed Nolan Ryan at the tail end of his career. The classic cartoon the next day had no words, simply an image of Ryan carrying Ventura to the woodshed with switch in hand. I laughed hysterically! Would love to see it again if you ever find the chance...

Hey Drew,
Congratulations on 25 years! (Are we really that old???).
I haven't seen them all, but I can say that like a fine wine, the 'toon has become a classic over the years. It's great that you can give so much to the Denver sports fans and do what you love at the same time.
I hope that as long as there's a sports-fanatic in Denver, you're there to entertain/irritate them!
Cheers ol' buddy...

Great cartoon Drew, it has all our heroes and the antihero! By the way, I just wanted to mention that Son of Rex is ranked #1 in our fantasy league! Well technically its T-1. Good luck this weekend, Joseph Addai helped you out to a good start.

Congrats on 25 years! I have enjoyed and appreciated your work since day 1. The sports page and your 'toon are the first things I look for online since I've moved from Denver to Iowa a couple of years back...they keep me connected to Colorado.

Congrats on 25 years - and many more! Great anniversary 'toon. I've enjoyed and appreciated your work since day one. In the sports section, yours is the first thing I look for online since moving from Denver to Phoenix 13 years ago. I'm a life-long Denver sports fan and every day is an adventure seeing/reading what you've got to say. Keep up the great work! And let us know when you'll be publishing your next book of 'toons. PS, I really hate when you're on vacation.

Here's to another 25.
Best wishes,

The best doesn't necessarily mean the funniest. I remember a few years back after the Ray Boom-Boom Mancini fight when his opponent died. There was a lot being written about the violence of boxing and Drew had a drawing of a brain attached as a speed bag. Insightful.
