25 years of Drew

25 years. It's hard to believe it's been that long. It seems like only yesterday when I sat in the press box at Mile High stadium for the very first time. I've been blessed no doubt. I've been able to live out my dream in this incredible city and state. I've been able to draw about Super Bowl wins (let's not talk about the losses) a couple of Stanley Cup championships and the birth of Denver's first Major League baseball team. None of this would have been possible, of course, without you, the readers of the Rocky Mountain News. Thank you for 25 amazing, wonderful, terrific years.
In the coming days I'll be posting a Q and A online. In the meantime, enjoy the cartoons from the last 25 years. You can vote on your favorite, and as always feel free to leave your comments.

Watched you draw in the stands while watching the Rockies Spring training. You have quite a gift for drawing. I really enjoy your cartoons and always look for them in the paper. John Elway has to be your best.
Thanks for 25 years and hope we have 25 more to look forward to.

Well Drew, I am looking forward to the next 25 years. Like Brad, I have watched from afar for the last 19 years and while stationed overseas with the USAF in the late 80s and early 90s I had a sunday subsrciption to the News and looked forward to seeing the toons that you would come up with. Now living in NM and being able to keep up with your toons are the hilight of my week when I can look at them here on line. I can always get a good laugh while keeping up with sports in my hometown. Look forward to more. Thanks for all you do to keep the sports celebs from taking themselves to seriously. And oh..by the way, I love the Tricky Ricky in the montage above. Great toon as always. Cheers.

Drew,
You won me as a fan when I moved to Denver in 1983. The past 25 years have been extraordinary! Your dry wit comes through loud and clear, with just enough bite! I can't wait to see what you dream up in the next 25 years !

Drew,
Thanks for giving all your readers a laugh over the years. My favorite would have to be the one were Elway is tapping on sleeping Dan Reeve's window holding the superbowl trophy.

Thanks, Drew. Every day I get the sports section out, remove whatever fluff is in between, and then look for your comic. Its a great start to the day. I guess I took it for granted, but you rock.

My fav is the husband-sports-geek: sitting in a swivel-chair and wired to the ceiling fan with football, basketball, hockey, and baseball on TVs in all four corners. He yells to his wife, with her hand on the switch, "Ok, hit it!" Thanks for 25 years of clever humor.
