Mile High Salute

drew0922.gif

I've always believed that Terrell Davis never got his due credit for all that he meant to the Broncos. Simply put, without him and Steve Atwater the Broncos never win the Super Bowl against the Packers. It's wonderful to see Terrell finally get his day in the sun, it just came way too late in my opinion.

I was very impressed with Jay Cutler last weekend and I expect the Broncos to beat the Jaguars Sunday. The Colts are a whole different matter but I think they will give Indianapolis a tough game. The defense should be much better by week 4 and the combo of Bailey and Bly will give any quarterback fits.

I'm going to be taking some time off in the coming weeks due to a family medical issue. I will have a cartoon or two here and there so check back every few days. I'm hoping to draw live for the Indy game but until I assess the medical situation I'm not sure. Thanks for reading.

Ditto on the Davis . . . and the Atwater. I know the speculation is that Atwater will never make the HOF, but seriously, someone there should rewatch SB XXXII. Interception, sack, broken up passes, busted heads. . . he did it all. In my opinion he should have gotten serious consideration for MVP of that game.

I agree whole-heartedly with the credit to be given to Atwater and Davis, as well as a few other Broncos, for the "Glory Days". I attached a link to an article on ESPN.com discussing the lack of credit the Broncos recieve, however. Please do check it out if you haven't already. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/halloffame07/columns/story?columnist=sando_mike&id=2958207

Totally agree! It's the beginning of the 2nd quarter and we need more players like them.
Plus that stupid defensive scheme that has virtually no pressure on the QB and allows way to many plays by that loose zone scheme inside. Looks just like all those defensive schemes that have kept the Broncos at 8 or 9 wins!

And those special teams on kickoffs and punts... unbelieveable and absolutely horrid. All through the game little or no pressure. Indy is licking their lips...

I am sure the "go for it" on 4th and 6 on the Jacksonville side of the field will be criticized by everyone. I think it made sense. Shanahan knows his defense and or his defensive schemes stink and knew that Jacksonville would simply run the ball with whoever and keep getting 1st downs until time ran out since the Broncos had no more timeouts. Made sense.

Just got back from the game. What an awesome halftime. A lot of people dusted off TD jerseys they hadn't worn in years for today.

As for the game, they lost but oh well. They weren't going 16-0 and today was special because of the Ring of Fame induction. Although a win would have been even better.
