Great cartoon. With all of these upsets this year, it's just another reason why college football beats the NFL for excitement.

When will the BCS system get thrown in the river where it belongs? It's not like college football doesn't have a month off between it's last regular game and the bowl games.

It seems like being rated in the top 5 this year has become the kiss of death for every team. I guess it proves the saying, "its not how ya start its how ya finish". Sure makes the season fun, tho.

I hate the BCS and the ranking system. They need to go to a playoff style system just like EVERY other college and pro sport. Keep the bowls but make them rounds in a playoff. I am so tired of the inaccurate and often biased ranking system that exists.

In the end, does it really friggin' matter what team is number one?

If you aren't first your last Charlies Owner :)

In sports first place matters. There must e a loser and a winner. Otherwise there is no reason to play the game. Competition and the strive for excellence must be measured against ones peers if it is to have any meaning.

Everyone plays to be number one Charlies owner...that's why sports exist.

If you're playing soccer with 10-year old kids then it doesn't matter who is number one. But in College football and with any sport, being number one accounts for millions of dollars for the program from the exposure along with increased recruiting opportunities and recognition for having the best team.

So unless you're playing for orange sliced and juice boxes..... then yeah, it does matter who is number one.

    Let's see.

Broncos win by the skin of their teeth again. Seems that's the only way they can win games anymore. What a joke of a team. The Steelers had an off game, turnover-wise. Just another game in a long line of games the Broncos haven't deserved to win. They should be 0-6. And if they were 0-6, the team might actually learn how to play correctly instead of always waiting for Elam to bail them out. Cutler can't get it done. Travis "Bong-Hit" Henry can't get it done. Shanahan can't get it done.
Only Elam, it seems, can get it done. But they're hanging their hat on him far too often.
Cutler needs to be replaced. Plain and simple.

The Avalanche? Can't win on the road. Wow. Ryan Smyth is really making a difference. What a horrible signing he turned out to be. And just where has Paul Statsny suddenly gone? He's invisible.

The Rockies? They now get to play Boston instead of the Indians who they were hoping to get. The Red Sox are RED HOT. The Rockies haven't seen a game situation in a week. I'll predict the Red Sox win the WS in 5 games, but Boston winning in 4 games is probably more likely.

The CU Buffaloes got laid out by Kansas!

The Nuggets are winless so far. Yes, I know the season hasn't begun, but it's fun to know they haven't broken the win column yet.

The Mammoth will be winless for the entire season. It's a guarantee.

Not a good deal for Colorado sports teams. But I very much enjoyed the weekend. I hope you all did as well.

How come you never answer to any replies to your low IQ posts.

Paul Zimmerman in another cartoon blog asked a very good question which you are obviously afraid to answer.

Exactly WHO are you a hero to?

I'm sure you'll answer now with a smart alec and non-truthful reply.

Either way, we know that you are nothing more than a coward who has never competed in a sport in his life and who knows very little of the professional sporting world.

Please go back to your fantasy games of Dungeons and Dragons and let the real people who know sports talk about it.

    Why, I'm YOUR hero Bronc.

Are you really afraid to admit that publicly? I mean, damn....you keep interacting with me, and really....you're getting quite desperate. It seems you have this insane need to know all about me. I must be your hero. Or....maybe you're one of those weird stalker types?

    Does that answer your question?

Also, did you know that a great number of those "D&D" folks you speak of actually now own nearly all the gaming companies that are worth literally hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars? And alot of those folks also developed the computers and software that allows people like you to take part in a blog such as this. You may want to try and consider that before you go off sounding like a complete moron.
I'll also tell you a little secret. I played AHL hockey for 2 seasons for the now defunct Baltimore Skipjacks. So don't try and tell me about what it's like to be involved in pro sports.

    Charlie -

Have you actually heard of John Lennon, or are you that history challenged?

Try doing a little research. It might not make you smarter, but it would possibly help you appear less ignorant than you did with that last comment.

On one of your 1st and many idiotic posts, you stated that you were not going anywhere. I promised the same and am just living up to that promise. Believe me, I sincerely doubt you are a hero to anyone.

And I just sit here and laugh along with all the other Denver faithful. You call me a "moron" for my D&D comment, and you reply that they are all millionaires now. Pretty stereotypical of you there WCH.....I mean, I guess you do have all the hardcore facts in your D&D guidebook (Also known as the D&D "Where are they Now" book"). I hear that the DVD that comes with the book is pretty good too WCH......does it get the "Hero Stamp of Approval"?

WCH, you are a hero to nobody........except for maybe the 2 fans that once attended the games of the now "defunct" Baltimore Skipjacks.

Not all who post on this board like Denver sports and/or 1 of our teams. But at least 98% of them show common sense which you are obviously lacking.
