Rockies on Cloud 9

DREW1024.gif

History awaits us. Grab the kids and take it all in because chances are we may never see it again in our lifetime. This incredible season continues at Fenway, an appropriate place for baseball dreams to come true.

I don't like the fact that the Rockies had such a long layoff, but they continue to be loose, going to Boston with nothing to lose. I like their chances and think they can win the Series in six or seven.

Let me know what you think.

The Monforts are a joke. They lucked into this world series and we are all fortunate to be Rockies fans. Drew is right this may never come again. I'm ready to enjoy it while I can.

Nothing ends a hot streak faster than a long layoff. I have my concerns there, especially after the Red Sox just pumped themselves up coming from behind the way they did to get to the World Series. Momentum is clearly in their favor right now. I'm hoping that does not make the difference in this series.

The Monforts did luck into this series. Glad someone else agrees.
There is no way that Charlie and Dick use this extra $$$ to help the ball club. No way.
They've lined their own pockets since they've owned the team, and nothing will change.
The layoff has already taken its toll and not a game of the series has been played. Things are about to completely fall apart on a grand scale. Every Rockie player will struggle to hit and pitch. I'm wishing for Todd Helton, Tulowitzki, and Matt Holliday to be the goats in this series.
I see Helton going hitless in the series. I see Tulowitzki making 6 or more errors in the 4 games. Matt Holliday will hit into 5 double plays in the 4 games. Francis will last less than 3 innings in game One.
Beckett strikes out 15 in 8 1/3 tonight to get things going.

Romantically, Boston in 6. Boston has paid their dues and they and their fans deserve to celebrate a World Series winning game at Fenway this time. In '04, they didn't get that chance.
In reality, the series will probably be won in 5.

Boston fans don't deserve anything more then we do. we'll just see. Beckett won't go 7 tonight and the Rockies defence is the best in baswballso we won't give them the game as Cleveland did. Rock in 5 they bet the Boston tonight it will be a sweep.

Congrats to the players and the fans. The team made it in spite of a bush league ownership group, a manager who was ready to settle for .500 ball, and a GM who wanted to take the team apart before they had a chance (Todd Helton). Our guys showed that miracles can happen, and they're not done yet.

Helton goes 13 for 13, Tulo makes 6 impossible plays at Short, Holiday goes yard 5 times in 4 games. Francis throws a complete game shutout in Game 1, Beckett hits the showers in inning 3...

    Just as likely.

For me personally, I'm rooting for my hometown Rockies to put this nonsense to rest.

"they never consider that it might be possible the Rockies are actually a good enough team to play at their level."

Why consider something that has no basis in fact?

    ????

The Rockies are horrible franchise. They have clowns for owners. They need to use technology (a humidor) to allow fair play at their stadium instead of just playing the game naturally, and their fanbase is fairweather (they suddenly appeared when the Rockies went on their streak, but were nowhere to be found before then). Boston fans are loyal even in the dark days. But of course, there haven't been many dark days lately for the Sox, have there?
We also have a stadium that is classically named. Yours is named after a beer manufacturer who's owner got nailed for a DUI. That was one of the most ironically funny things I ever heard.
Don't even try to compare the Rockies and the Sox. It's pointless.
The Red Sox are a million times the franchise the Rockies can ever hope to be.

Your team had a nice run. Good for them. However, I would suggest that you all take a breath and realize that the 2007 Rockies are a one-time deal. Your owners never pay the players. I wonder if Matt Holliday would like playing in Boston? Wouldn't that be something? And it probably will happen once Boras puts the $ figure in front of the Monforts and they reject it.

The Rockies decided to win their previous series' in sweeps.
That's the reason they got an 8-day layoff. They made their bed, or rather, their grave, and now they may lie down in it.
The Sox will be more than happy to shovel the dirt on top of them and bury them away for good.
Tulowitzki looked like a fool flopping all over the infield and outfield going after balls.
The Rockies batters looked horrible, just flailing away at curveball after curveball from Beckett.
