  This toon nailed the obvious. There is no way the Nuggets will succeed until Carmelo is traded away. He's next to useless on defense and seems to pick up offensive fouls in bunches. He's always hooking his defender to get around him. That's how he gets half his points every game.
  Iverson just isn't a point guard. He's a guy who plays selfish one-on-one ball. That's it.
  It's pretty sickening.

  Both of them were also not allowed on the court when the game was in doubt, surely because neither plays defense.
  Oh...and how does everyone think Carmelo is enjoying being continually upstaged by LeBron James? Yes, LeBron is a total primadonna himself, but Carmelo has been chasing him since draft day and it's as if LeBron haunts his dreams. LeBron is the All-Star Game MVP, and Carmelo is what? A loser.
  Good times. It's nice to see Anthony upstaged year after year. The game could not have had a better outcome.

  On top of that, it's a total embarassment to have 2 players starting an All-Star game who's team is in 9th place in their conference. And obviously having both in the starting lineup led to the West losing. How embarassing for the Nuggets franchise to have these dolts being the cause of such a public humilation on national television. Guess it just showed a great example of the dysfunction that surrounds the Nuggets.

  Don't know what game they are watching when we are watching the Nuggets fall on their face, but apparantly they not seeing the same game we are.

  Personally, I don't have to worry about my money going to pay for two selfish little BRATS.

  1. Mel/AI's shot totals to their point total in the All-Star game. Well, Billups took 10 shots to score 6 and Nash took 8 shots to score 8. I guess they're crappy, selfish players too?
  2. It's crappy the Nugs have two starters despite being 9th? Way to cherry pick. I could say the Nuggets have two starters because of .615 winning percentage, despite having more games lost due to injuries than any other team, and are a mere 4.5 games out of FIRST place in the West.
  3. This myth that the Nuggets don't play defense. They are an average defensive team. But to think the Nuggets are terrible defensively is just wrong. They give up a lot of points because, they and their opponents, have so many more possessions per game because of the tempo they play. ESPN has a stat, defensive efficiency, which gives a point per 100 possessions. The Nuggets are 5th best.
  4. Again, "the Nuggets fall on their face?" I assume you mean fall on their face all the way to being on pace to the 2nd best season in franchise history.
  5. Mind you, I'm not saying AI/Mel don't take bad shots. Both are good for 4/5 bad forces a game. But that's the cost of doing business with 2 of the 20 best players in the NBA.

  I wouldn't even put either in the top 50. They sell a lot of jerseys because of their gang-banger persona, but jersey sales and inflated internet votes don't make a great player.

  He wants all the attnetion that Lebron James gets, and has been after it for years. It's all he seems to care about. He wants to be in an All-Star game more than he wants to help his team win a title. He's not about helping others. he fully expects others to work hard to put him in a position to grab all the glory.
  Detroit, even though Darko didn't pan out, was very wise in passing on Anthony. They knew what he was, and they wanted no part of him at any cost.

  They can beat a Celtics team that is using s Kevin Garnett who's at about 20%, but they lose games to horrible, sub-.500 teams.

  This group will not succeed. They are far too interested in personal stats to care about a team effort.

  How about we take Anthony and Iverson out of the Nuggets lineup and see how much better they play. They'd easily win 10 more games per season.

Melo as the main scorer, Nene in the lowpost, Andre Miler as the main playmaker and 2nd perimeter scorer, Camby anchoring defense, a defensive stud 3point shooting 2guard (deshawn stevenson)........ you know, like how a real team is built.

  
  Not with 2 number-1 scorers and a bunch of talented guys that dont fit built around them.
