Carmelo: Colorado Road Hazard

DREW0625.gif

Driving in Denver can be dangerous enough without road hazards like Melo. DUI is, of course, a very serious topic. Too often times sports franchises don't take a hard enough line when one of their stars can't walk one after too many drinks. The Nuggets hit Melo with a two game suspension. Wonder how long it would have been if, say, he actually had hurt somebody. Is it me,or does it get old watching another millionaire athlete being coddled and not being held responsible for their actions?

I think the sentence Melo received is a JOKE! Coach Karl stated on TV, "Melo has friends in the crowd looking out for him" - it is more a case of he, has friends in "high places" allowing him to deal with the consequences of his actions. He isn't a child, he needs to grow up and act like the role model he is supposed to be!

Not to get all Star Jones on y'all but as a lawyer, this is actually a pretty typical first-time DUI offender result. Did Carmelo Anthony get special treatment that night? Probably.

But if you think Woody Paige or Mark Kizla or anyone who can afford a top-flight defense attorney wouldn't have received a similar punishment, you're crazy.

Moreover, do you not think you all work with individuals who have been stopped for DUIs and weren't fired.

The Nuggets basically suspended him for what most of us would be a 1.5 weeks without pay. I doubt you'd find many other professions who would give such a private sanction.

Because if there were, the unemployment numbers would be even higher than they already are!

    Smh.
If you guys really don't want Melo out there. petition for Kroenke or them dudes to trade him for Shawn Marion. He play's defense, and has practically the same salary as Melo. But of course, you wouldn't want that, because deep down under all these stupid little jokes you make, you know that without Melo (& yes, even with AI) that the Nuggets won't be shxt.

I actually think the Nuggets would be better with AI and Marion then they would with AI and Melo..... at least then you have a semblance of order and not to mention true defense. AI/Smith/Marion/KMart/Nene....... I like that. Alot...... AI as the number 1/top dog that him and Melo keep fighting over... lock-down defener in Marion and 2nd scoring option....... hmmmm......
