Drew toon: A Michael Phelps Moment

DREW0819.gif

Scary image I know. But what's a middle aged, slightly overweight, American sports fan to do? That's what the Olympics does to us. The 1980 Miracle on Ice suddenly transformed us all into a bunch of raving lunatic hockey experts simply because the USA had finally found the formula to defeat the Russians at their own game. But no matter how crazy we get in our enthusiasm for the games, I'm sure I can safely speak for women everywhere, please don't go out and buy the Speedos.

I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that michael phelps is on some sort of elephat steroid. Throw in all those times that he wraps his arms around his body before he races and it makes me wonder if he's shooting up guinea pig hormones too. The dude is so juiced it's not even funny. He's 6'7'' and an athletic freak so that proves to us that he snorts giraffe testosterone on his private yacht on the weekends.

It amazes me how stupid some people are. Any time anyone does something amazing they must have been shooting up performance enhancers. I can understand how people are frustrated with the fact that there are so many stories of athletes cheating, but that does not implicate every amazing athlete.
Furthermore, what performance enhancing drug gives you long arms? How stupid…
I for one think that Phelps is awesome and everything indicates that he is as clean as they get. He has submitted himself to extra testing and has not taken any shortcuts. He trains continuously and has true dedication.
If one day the evidence changes and it shows that he used performance enhancing drugs then I will be saddened and disappointed, but until then I chose to believe that this kid is as remarkable as he seems. I hope that we get at least one more Olympics to be awed by his talent and dedication.

This may be your funniest toon ever Drew. I just showed this to about 30 people at work, and I think at least 12 kicked off while laughing.

    Good show!!!

    Drew,

Was this based on a self portrait of something that happened at your home over this last weekend? Just kidding. I'm sure you'd never tell even if it was.

Very funny toon. Thank you. Keep up the good work!

The visitors on this blog must be the dumbest people on the planet to believe that I was actually being serious when I wrote that post. Michael and KP13, you guys may want to look up the definition of tongue in cheek.

    Yeah Jacob. Right. Sure. Whatever.

You're the most negative person on this blog. You're actually worse than Working Class Hero. Far worse. Nice try to make yourself look less like a schmuck, but none of us are fooled.

I rest my case Jacob. Thank you for proving my point loud and clear. Now shuffle on to your kindergarten activities. It also might be high time for a diaper change for you. Maybe someone needs their pacifier? Sure seems like it.

OMG - this is so my father in law. Here we are, busy, back to school, back to work, TRYING to spend time with him, and all we could do was watch swimming. Apparently he watched every swim meet this year - so this PHELPS thing was huge for him. The man doesn't swim.

Yes, it was cool. But for busy parents, I had mac-n-cheese to make, backpacks to pack and laundry to do. Go Phelps - now let's move on already.
