Drew toon: Phelps Gold

Good as Gold. I never thought I'd see another Olympian as great as Mark Spitz in my lifetime. But Michael Phelps is every bit the swimmer Spitz was and then some. It's really quite amazing to see and has been THE highlight of this years Olympics. I'm hoping the drama picks up soon when we see track and field and something other than beach volleyball night in and night out.
The Broncos face the Cowboys tonight in a preseason match up. Kind of fun watching football when the weather turns a little chilly.
Stay tooned for some new animations coming soon.
Drew

Shoulda gone with a sharks fin and sharp teeth, but congrats to Phelps for the win.
I think the protest helped to prove beyond a doubt that he won. Now no one can say "Maybe he didn't win".

Regarding Phelps and his "cupping hand" over his breast signifies that YOU not Phelps has a problem. Take care of it.

Phelps is on steroids, just like every other Olympian. Get over this fake patriotism.

How about a jet pack on the winner of the 100 meters in track and field? Because I have the CBC on my cable company, I already know who won. But for those stuck with NBC's "We don't care about the Western Time Zones" coverage, I won't say who it is. Though you may already know anyway....

In this era of cheating in sports, suppose it's fitting to suspect Phelps as you might suspect anyone else. And, obviously, patriotism clouds our desire for anything like this to be true for our countrymen.
But the difference to me is the way Phelps did this: He's been the best swimmer in the world for 5 years now and has been projected as capable of doing this since he was a teenager. Over that time he's been tested more times than I'm sure anyone would ever imagine--without even an air of suspicion.
I'm much more inclined to believe he's doing it legitimately than many of the other stories at the Olympics.

Bert's sounds like one of those guys who's jealous of the success of others.
Why don't you SHOW just a tiny bit of patriotism and not make empty accusations.....your just talking out your back end.

The way Bert kind of put his comment out there was a little offbeat, but hey, in this day and age, everyone really is (and maybe should be) guilty until proven innocent in the sporting world. I mean, there are STILL athletes getting kicked out of the Olympics, Tour de France, baseball (a handful of minor leaguers were suspended last week).
It's pretty simple to see that even with all the testing being done, athletes are still trying to do illegal stuff with the simple hope that they will be the exception and won't get caught. They're still willing to cheat. That's the part that's amazing. Are Phelp's medals tainted? Most likely not, but there will always be an air of suspicion, won't there? There's nothing wrong with people being suspicious. Especially not when they have a clear and real reason to be. Sportzfan - one does not have to be jealous of others to be concerned about how fair or just the compeition was. Live and let live.

The top Chinese runner pulled out because he was on steroids and didn't want to get caught.
Phelps is on the juice too. Pretty obvious to everyone. It's just that with the historical thing involved here, the IOC will ignore the positive drug tests and just move on just like they have with the 12 year old Chinese gymnasts posing as 16 year olds. There's too much money involved for the IOC to be concerned about fair play.
Also, some questions - Why hasn't Carmelo Anthony tried to punch out an opposing player yet in the Olympics and then backpedal to show the world what a wuss he is? Isn't that his style? Why hasn't Carmelo been busted at customs for having some reefer in his bag? That's his style too. Stange.
Why can't the Rockies make up even one game in the standings in 2 months time? Do they really suck that badly? Yeah, I guess they do.
The Broncos winning versus Dallas meant as much as them losing to the Texans. In short, both games meant nothing. So all you jokers that have all of a sudden jumped on the bandwagon and are shouting to the heavens that Cutler is God, get over yourselves. When the regular season rolls around and Cutler isn't throwing against vanilla defenses, we'll see the Cutler of old, the one who likes to toss INT's that are returned for TD's. The guy's a loser. He's always been a loser.
And Eddie Royal? Please. The guy will be lucky to catch 20 passes for 200-300 yards. He's not even close to an impact player. He wouldn't even make 90% of the rosters on other NFL teams. He's in the position he's in because Denver has no receivers. They have no other option becuase they draft horribly. Get ready for a 4-12 season.

Yep. People who actually take the time to respond to posts like that one at 12:25pm ARE losers. Why do you people continue to feed the trolls here? Just leave it be. Don't you ever learn? You just keep kicking and kicking and kicking the trolls.
STOP!
Take a freaking hint. Just let these folks rant. Why let it bother you so? Your responding to the rant make you more of an idiot than the person with the orignal rant.

You choose not to leave them alone. By doing so, you egg them on. Silence can be golden. You and a lot of other people here just don't get it. Why not ignore their posts? Why do you have to respond? You just fuel their fire.
