Rockies Blame Game

DREW1008.gif

Scapegoats Found in Rockies clubhouse
It was only a matter of time before the Rockies would find someone to blame for this disappointing season. Often times, it is the manager or the general manager who pays the price for a season gone bad. In this case, it fell on the shoulders of it's coaching staff. It was just another way to pass the blame without really dealing with the problem. This is only the beginning of many changes the Rockies will make in the next few months. It's going to get bumpy on Blake Street.

Name the Defense contest continues
I've decided to continue the name the Broncos defense contest until Friday so keep those nicknames coming. The winner gets last Saturdays Broncos cartoon original and a Fraternal Order of Pigskin T-shirt. I'll announce the winner on Friday morning.

I'm dumbfounded as to how Hurdle, Apodaca, and Hill are still employed.

If I showed up at work and did my job at 4/10th's efficiency each year, I would have no room to argue if I was fired.

What does Glenallen Hill really bring to the team besides patting players on the fanny when they hit a single and holding their batting gloves? I guess he, along with Matt Herges, serves as a reminder to Rockies players of the steroids era since he was one of the juicers back then. That's the only reason I can think of.

Apodaca. Um. I don't even have the energy to list every reason why he should have been canned years ago. Does this guy do anything worthwhile? Damnm near every time he goes to the mound to talk with a pitcher, that pitcher either gives up a home run or tosses a wild pitch or some such thing.

Guess both of these guys brown-nosed O'Dowd just enough in the exit interviews to avoid getting axed.
