A Rockies Hitting Coach

DREW1127new.gif

The Polls are still open
Mt Crushmore voting is still going on so be sure to get your votes in before the polls close. Come back to the RockyMountainNews.com on Friday and have we'll narrowed your choices based upon the poll tallies. Then you can begin to vote on the final four Broncos that will be drawn in the Mt. Crushmore cartoon. The final drawing will be made available to all of you to download just in time for holiday giving.

Happy Thanksgiving
It's so easy to take the good things we enjoy in life for granted, particularly when the economy is bad and we are witness to the horrible images of senseless violence like we are seeing in Mumbai, India. It's a good day to just be grateful for a warm cup of coffee, a soft bed, a warm home, for the friends and family we have around us, and for the chance to share a meal and some good conversation. Now, if could just do something about getting the Detroit Lions off the NFL's thanksgiving schedule. Hope your holiday is a good one.

Happy Holidays to you too Drew.

I'm not sure anything is going to help the Rockies. I think they were a flash in the pan, and that's it. They had one glorious shot at the big time and got stagefright.

Now the fire sale has commenced. There won't be a decent free agent that will ever come here except maybe a hitter or two that wants a one-year deal to hit a bunch of dingers in the thin air so they can fatten up for a big contract later.

The Rockies will now be a farm team for the rest of MLB. Tulo will be gone when his next contract is due. There's just no way that the Rockies own players would sign a long term deal here again. They know that the best prime years would be spent on a team that has owners who don't care about making the team better.

That said....have you noticed that Stan Kronke is doing a similar thing with the Avs? Yes, he signed Stastny, but I would seriously doubt there will be any more splashes in the free agent market for the Avs anytime in the near future. Kronke obviously is more intent in putting money into the Nuggets, if anyone.

The Avs are headed for a long drought, and quite possibly a number of years of missing the playoffs entirely.

The Broncos? They should be 4-7. With luck, they are 6-5.

Where is Drew with his Nebraska/Colorado toon?

I thought there would be one.

The Buffs endured a tough season. I am, however, proud of the Corn. They rebounded from a very bad season to make this season a good one.

I do have a question about the Buffs, and I'm not being sarcastic when I ask this, but....

Why (besides the obvious) is Cody Hawkins the starting QB for Colorado? He's outmatched by even the simpliest defenses. I think Coach Hawk needs to permanently bench his little boy.

    Drew-
    GREAT TOON!!

Hopefully changing everything will make the Rockies a better team in a few years. Unless the Monforts dole out some money it will be in 2012 before the Rockies have a chance at a pennant again. 2007 was great and maybe they can pull on out but, I won't hold my breath.

All hail the random Husker fan who cannot wait for the toon showing how the Frontrange superbowl of college football plays out. CU/Neb games make for some of the best blooper reels in sports and are an absolute joy to watch.
