Actress: Consumerism is killing planet
Eco-activist and actress Daryl Hannah, in a flowing white shirt, urged the Green Frontier Fest crowd to turn away from consumerism to save the planet.
"We urgently need change. Our scientists are telling us we're stressing the planet. You've been hearing it. We're facing a crisis. This earth has been giving us everything.. . . The solution does not lie solely with political change. It lies within each one of us. We can remake the dream that bigger is better. The bling thing is literally killing us and everything we touch," she said. "We can remake the dream that bigger is better. Let's examine the way we live and question our choices."

7 billion humans MUST consume in order to exist. It's how the cycle of life works. Do you greenies think solar panels and windmills grow on trees? Their built and maintained by using fossil fuels. Get a grip on reality for crying out loud.

We are all going to destory this planet if its "business as usual". Stop your knee jerk defensive reaction. Think clearly. If the planet fails, so do we. Scientists are telling us we've messed up big time. We don't need to make it painful. We can make it an opportunity to gain prosperity. We need to be more efficent in our resource use. Its each and everyone of us. We need to grow up and be responsible, not push it off as not our problem. Come on all you enterpenuers, can't you think of a way to make a buck AND save water and electricity?
