Dems eager for ’08
Tuesday, January 30 at 12:01 AM

Republicans I know say they find the Democrats’ love-in at the state Capitol, in Washington, and in capitals across the country disgusting. I just tell them, “It’s a sight better than the Republican hate-in we’ve been forced to witness of late!”
Also, it does my heart good to see John McCain throw his support 100 percent behind the lame and wounded duck, W. By all accounts, McCain had been the sole Republican with any chance of winning the presidency in 2008. He just single-handedly sank the Republican ship (or what was left of it).
There is one thing that Republicans do well, and that’s not listen to the people. We common folk are just champing at the bit. We wish the election were today. Then there’d be real celebrating!

Bible among most precise of ancient texts
Letter writer Travis Schriner (“Jesus spoke about tolerance, not hatred,” Jan. 12) is mistaken about the accuracy of the Bible.
First of all, the canon was not created or changed by the church. The church recognized that the Bible was inspired by God when it was written.
Second, the Bible is recognized as the most accurate book of its time.
When archaeologists found the Dead Sea scrolls, they compared the scroll of Isaiah with Isaiah 53 of the Bible. The only change they found was the addition of one three-letter word out of about 400 words in all, and that word does not change the meaning of the whole passage. After 1,000 years of being copied, the Bible has little difference (if any) from the original written documents.

Just remember that 08 will be the last time the democrat party will ever come to Colorado if our newly elected far left radical extremist socialist liberal democrat government gets its bill through to change how the Electoral College votes are cast. These liberal socialist want the popular vote to decide who is elected and by that they mean New York, Chicago, and California. A vote in Colorado would not mean anything and the liberals running for office could care less about us. I guess this is the only way they can get and remain in power, because if they told everyone what they really stood for, they would never get elected.
Just remember Ritter said he was not going to be a rubber stamp governor, when elected, and approve every bill sent to him. Let’s wait and see how he does on this one and then we will know for sure.

A vote in Colorado would not mean anything ...it already doesn't mean anything if you don't vote Republican, tool

Hate- in?I think you have been listening to too much Air America and liberal news organizations. The Democrats sat and did nothing when their all mighty leader Bill clinton let Bin Laden and his buddies Bomb American Embassies,American ships and set up shop in the U.S. to plan 9/11.The Democrats got real nasty when Foley a Republican was sending explicit e-mails to former pages. When one of the Democrats was found out he was having sex and taking a 17 year old page on trips with him,he got re-elected ,a censor and a standing ovation upon his return.Republicans involved with Abramhoff were forced out of office.Democrat Jefferson was found with $90,000 dollars in his freezer, which is probably bribe money or he takes the term frozen assets to mean put your money in the freezer. He gets a standing ovation upon his return to office.
Nancy Pelosi becomes Speaker of the House,a accomplishment indeed. Her daughter makes a documentary bashing Evangelicals and Mrs.Pelosi likes to stay in touch with her constituants by marching in a gay pride parades in San Francisco with the President of NAMBLA.She will call our President names but march with a President of an organization that promotes sexual relationships between men and little boys.
Their American Idol Bill Clinton has affair after affair and the lawyers can't keep up and his wife actually thinks she can handle a terrorist when she can't even handle her husband?
I strongly disagree wuth you when you say Republicans are a party of hate. there has been nothing but hate coming from the left, the liberal, the far left liberals and the Democrats which many of them are angry and hateful.
They see nothing wrong when one of them do things or make mistakes they give themselves standing ovations. When a Republican does something they want blood and his head on a spike outside the halls of the Senate just like the Romans used to do.

Politics is a nasty business and no side is perfect. The only way this country will ever be great again is if we stop fighting each other and try to solve problems.OOps sorry went of to the land of OZ again.

The Democrats are just getting started give them time to really screw things up.
Oh, and one more thing ,kiss your hard earned money goodbye, they will raise taxes.

Same old, same old, blame Clinton. You people can't face the truth.

Posted by ollie on January 30, 2007 08:01 AM

Ollie - Ah, if things could be so simple as they are in your mind.

You need to face reality and accept the FACTS about what Clinton did (and didn't do) that left this country in a such mess when he left office.

Between turning the other cheek on terrorism, dismantling our military and coasting thru office on an economy built by the previous administrations (and letting it collapse in 1999) he single handidly drug this country into the dirt.

Fortunately Bush has made the right decisions including the rebuilding of our military back to respectable strength and recreating an economy that has not only rebounded but also surpassed any levels enjoyed during Clintons rein.

I will take back the part about dragging us into the dirt "single handidly." I forgot, Hillary helped!

At least things are finally on the upswing. At least until the "new direction" (whatever that means) congress dismantles it again.

Its America so we accept all opinions, but damn Im glad that KW etal are in the minority in this country.

Posted by flimflam on January 30, 2007 09:52 AM

W=worse president ever.

Clinton didn't dismantle the military, as any one who has spent any time reviewing budgets and such will clearly see. On the other hand, BUSH has degraded our ability to fight terrorism, to defend our homeland, and to serve our people, through over-extending the military in a quagmire that it botched from the beginning and has only succeeded in making us less secure, more bankrupt, unpopular around the world...

Posted by oliver on January 30, 2007 09:58 AM

Sure seems to be a lot of angry and hateful people on the right out there lately.

Posted by T on January 30, 2007 10:28 AM

Flim - Watching this "new direction" congress trying to figure out where to buy a compass is funnier than the 3 Stooges.

It's also helping a great deal for Repulicans in '08. The '06 voters are beginning to realize the Dims campaign platforms were nothing but hot air.

Enjoy your slim "majority" while it lasts my friend. The voters won't be taken for ride so easy next time.

Come on now KW, you dont honestly want me to put polls up here do you?

Iraq is the mill stone hanging around the necks of every republican and thats not going away any time soon.

Posted by flimflam on January 30, 2007 11:11 AM

Don't worry flim. With the surge having great results already we defintely want this mill stone to be around. Churning Dim straw into chaff that will be swept away with a gust of hot air.

Posted by KW on January 30, 2007 11:30 AM

KW, are you related to or somehow associated with Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, otherwise known as Baghdad Bob?

Posted by flimflam on January 30, 2007 11:40 AM

KW is a delusional as (enormous successes in Iraq) Cheney.

Posted by Ollie on January 30, 2007 11:57 AM

Ahhh, name calling when you have nothing intelligent to say. A bit revealing, don't you think flim?

And grog - Too bad you're filled with such hatred of this administration. You list opinion as fact and claim supremecy for your beliefs. Unfortunately it's your belief in the MSM that will be your downfall. You see, you keep confusing what you see on TV as news.

See you in 2008!

Posted by KW on January 30, 2007 12:06 PM

KW,

Can you cite a specific fact I listed that is actually an opinion? I listed no beliefs, I listed facts. Do you have facts to offer up instead, or do you just like seeing what you write on web pages?

I am not apologetic about hating this administration, but I have a lot of very good reasons to do so. Until you can defend your positions with something other than vague generalities, you will only discredit your own argument.

Posted by Grog on January 30, 2007 12:49 PM

Is it grog or in a fog?
As far as jobs go look to the unemployement stats, they are lower than any time in the last 15 years.
The DOW is a very good indication of how the economy is going but you being a child would not know of that process yet. So instead of whinning about wages and how you socialist want everything given to you, go out and create a business and become one of the top 1%. Now you wont like this idea because it will require dedication and hard work on your part and nobody will give you anything, you will have to earn it.
As for social security and nothing left there, you should remember how the President wanted to create private accounts for kids under 30 to invest in and not rely totally on SSI. There was never any action on it till 'W' brought it up again and your socialist dims blocked a vote on the idea Clinton raved about in his state of the union address in 98. OOPS another example of how the dims promise and then walk away.
BTW with the tax rate reduction there is more money going into the federal coffers than before and even the NYT's had to admit that truth.
Ok I am done now groggie so now you can show your ability to act more childish and start to call everyone you want to names. While you turn red in the face I am going to go and enjoy a fine cigar and a glass of single malt scotch and think up ways to spend my social security checks if I ever get any. Enjoy your rant and rave times as I am going to go enjoy myself and just smile at how you will be creative in your come back of pure far left wing socialist liberal dim thought.

grog wrote: "KW, can you cite a specific fact I listed that is actually an opinion?

Oh grog, such a proverbial can of worms you've opened. Lets see, where do I begin...

1) "the only way you can possibly claim that W has done anything worthwhile for this country is to use intentionally misleading statistics and spin every other fact as hard as you possibly can."

Yeah, that's just loaded with facts.

2) "Real economic indicators show an alarming gap between the richest 1% and the rest of the populatioin. Real wages are down, real costs for basic human needs (health care, etc) are rising, and a larger percentage of people live below the poverty line than have since Reaganomics so spectacularly fizzled."

Please do tell us more of these "real economic indicators" you speak of. Maybe you could teach the rest of the econmists across the country why they're so stupid to think our economy is doing well. Oh I forgot, they don't loath Bush.

Do I need to continue with this cut and paste or can you go back on your own and reread what you posted by yourself.

Donger, you should know that the first 3 years of a Presidnecy can be directly related to the previous administration. That is a fact. No action that is done in the first two years will be calculated, nor reported until AFTER the 4th year. And as you know, the fact that the GDP went UP AFTER 9/11 is a miracle. Those are the facts.

Grog, all I can do is shake my head. The population growth rate in the US is not 3%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, the US population growth rate is 0.7% Look it up tough guy.

There will be no catastrophe if the Repubs win in 08, nor will there be one if the Dems hold. But think about this, for at least the last 22 years the Dems have talked about Health Care (prices go up and up and up), Education (the US ranks LAST in developed nations), the Environment (look out Global Warming), and social security (STILL NOTHING DONE???). I keep hearing that those are the BIG issues. Yet in 22 years, nothing is done about it?

On the Republican side, I hear "tax cuts for the rich" (well, they do pay for 90% of the taxes, and I am not rich, but I sure did get a nice tax cut), and let's go to war!!!

Seems kind of like a lose - lose, you know what I mean/

The two party system has reached the end of its usefulness. The best we can hope for right now is constant deadlock between competing branches of government. And never, ever again should we let a C student into the white house.

Economic Update: Bush economic policy doing well...

Excerpt from todays Bloomberg Report -

"The U.S. economy grew at a faster- than-forecast annual pace of 3.5 percent last quarter, propelled by a rebound in consumer spending as gasoline prices fell and wages grew.

The growth rate was the strongest since the first three months of 2006 and followed a 2 percent third-quarter pace, the Commerce Department reported today in Washington. A measure of inflation watched by the Federal Reserve rose at a slower pace. "

Anyone out there want to try and spin this one?

For the whole story:
