Keep Littwin in back
Saturday, March 31 at 12:01 PM

Michael Hult of Arvada writes:

When the Rocky Mountain News adjusted its format of the paper, I was extremely impressed with the organizational changes and the content.

Relegating Mike Littwin's left-wing political drivel to the back pages of the paper was a positive step. Also, Ed Stein's liberal, anti-establishment cartoons are becoming tedious. Littwin's columns belong in the classified ads under "downers" and Stein's cartoons belong in the comics (except that his political cartoons are not amusing). Please do not let Littwin beg his way to the front pages of your paper as his views are very biased and they don't reflect an objective opinion that your readers are entitled to.

READER COMMENTS

Better yet, send Littwin, Johnson, Griego and Stein packing back to their old offices at the old Rocky building on Colfax.

It really is hell for fringe extremist conservatives to have to put up with views they don't agree with. Michael Hull has an unusual definition of "objective"; he thinks it means agreeing with him. Just think, opinion columns that are biased. Shouldn't that be against the law?

Since Michael was so economical with his words, I thought I’d expound on what he must have been thinking when he wrote this ode to the News…

“Relegating Mike Littwin’s left-wing political drivel to the back pages of the paper was a positive step.”

Back, front, it is still getting published, and this is the problem, people. Let’s just silence all voices that don’t maintain the party line. After all, we are at war, and these stupid liberals just don’t get it. We should just hunt them down and ensure that they don’t speak again. Not to mention the chance to use our second-amendment rights! Let’s roll!

“Also, Ed Stein’s liberal, anti-establishment cartoons are becoming tedious.

Damn right. If it ain’t establishment, I don’t want to read it (supposing I could read). The shear audacity of someone else having an opinion different than mine is enough to make me huddle in my sleeping bag constructed of W’04 stickers and “support the troops” magnets.

Littwin’s columns belong in the classified ads under “downers.”

That a-hole Littwin’s columns make me encounter reality, which in my case includes: 1) a meth habit; 2) four ex-wives (and their hot daughters); 3) pedophilic tendencies; 4) an internet-porn habit; 5) the fact that we have accomplished nothing in Iraq; 6) the undeniable truth that this administration has been the worst. Ever.

So yes, Michael, you are right. We should only read columns and look at cartoons that mesh with our political beliefs. Anything else might force us to learn something or at least second-guess what we believe in – exactly what those sneaky liberals want us to do.

Was that supposed to be witty Bobby Joe? If not I don't understand why you would write that many words to say nothing of any value. I will give you that you have a very active imagination though. Or else maybe the concept of transference could use you as a poster child.

Bobby Joe, what 08:36 means by "nothing of any value" is that the poster didn't agree with what you were saying. It's a common ailment these days: if it doesn't match my opinion, it ain't worth printing.

Actually Truth, what it meant is that Bobby Joe's post doesn't say anything of meaning, rather, it just slanders the original letter writer without offering a thoughtful retort, just insults. You did prove your own point though, as the self-declared arbiter of these forums, you are well schooled in the "if it doesn't match my opinion, it ain't worth printing." school of thought.

04:21: "you are well schooled in the "if it doesn't match my opinion, it ain't worth printing." school of thought."

Apparently you have come across my edict prohibiting anyone from posting anything until I have approved of it. Please pass that on to your friends, if you have any. I'm having a little trouble getting people to abide by it. You can help.

08:36 AM:
Bobby-Joe was employing the time-honored technique of SARCASM in his funny, right-on-the-money post, something that apparently flew right over your head.
It's too bad that you got nothing of "value" out of the post, but that's OK, because I got a big laugh out of it.
As for "slanders the original letter writer without offering a thoughtful retort, just insults", trust me, 08:36, nothing could be said that you would view as useful if it disagrees with a conservative veiwpoint.
To me, it was not only thoughtful, it was hilarious.
HTH.

You guys are too rich, I love it when you libs angrily respond to blatant flames. Didn't anyone tell you that people on internet boards will mock you just to generate responses? I guess in the words of shane, "that apparently flew right over your head." LOL

Posted by on April 2, 2007 08:24 PM

Hmmm, I don't believe my response was angry, but you can think whatever you want, anonymous conservative poster 08:24.
What you think really doesn't mean jack to me.
