Illegal immigrants
Monday, April 2 at 1:33 PM

Larry De Cicco of Evergreen writes:

The Cesar Chavez illegal immigrant boycott; what a travesty. Chavez HATED illegals and looked on them as union-breakers for his United Farmworkers union. He would eject them from the fields, by force. Everything he stood for; the opportunity for legal workers to gain reasonable pay for their work, was undermined by the illegals, and it continues today.
And so now the supporters of illegal aliens take Chavez’s name in vain in boosting their “right” to crash our border, burden our social services and school systems, and become an undercurrent of illegal activity.
Bush wants them for big business; Democrats want them for votes; and government wonks want them for the paperwork that justifies their job. But they are a drain on society, schools, health services, and law enforcement. Just because they want to cut the line doesn’t make them more worthy then the aliens willing to enter the country legally; less so. The parades, the boycotts, the protests; it’s really getting old to citizens burdened with the cost of people who don’t belong here.

READER COMMENTS

Cesar Chavez was strongly opposed to illegal immigration. But Larry De Cicco is quite wrong to say that Chavez hated illegal immigrants. Chavez was love, not about hatred. But I doubt that people like De Cicco understand being against something but not hating it. Hate seems to be the fuel that runs so many people's lives. It was foreign to Cesar Chavez. It is a sacrilege to accuse this beautiful man of hatred.

Here is a prayer written by Chavez to symbolize his struggle:

"Show me the suffering of the most miserable;

So I will know my people's plight.

Free me to pray for others;

For you are present in every person.

Help me take responsibility for my own life;

So that I can be free at last.

Grant me courage to serve others;

For in service there is true life.

Give me honesty and patience;

So that the Spirit will be alive among us.

Let the Spirit flourish and grow;

So that we will never tire of the struggle.

Let us remember those who have died for justice;

For they have given us life.

HELP US LOVE ENVE THOSE WHO HATE US;

So we can change the world

Amen "

You forgot the Catholic Church wants them in droves to fill the coffers at a much greater rate than they can in Mexico. After all, the Pope needs a new painting, sculpture or other piece of art work.

About the only ones who want them here, want them here for their own benefit - not anything to do for the betterment of this Country. They are ruining this country and the politicians that are allowing it should be sent to Mexico, along with all the illegals. It is a nightmare with no end in sight. Who would believe that this vast invasion could have happened? It is a very sad thing to be happening to our Country. Can anything be done to stop the destruction?

I'm disgusted with the lack of coverage of the illegal immigrant problem. Currently there are only three, or maybe four, different threads on the subject.

You know, Stop the Invasion, that's pretty much exactly what the native americans said a few hundred years ago. Interesting.

Innane references to biblical and old world migration as a comparison to the wholescale invasion and stealing of identities, benefits, free citizenship, more benefits that is occuring AGAIN after the last major amnesty that was going to end illegal immigration.

Racial politicians and racist proponents of illegal immigration are losing the battle - expect the rhetoric to become even more shrill as yet another symbolic boycott amounts to a fart in the wind.

Unless we punish the businesses & individuals who hire the illegals, the problem will not be solved - and the only way to punish those people is economically. How big a fine did Swift get hit with when their plants were 'raided' by ICE? And does any member of their upper management face jail time? Or how about the individual who hires an illegal nanny or landscaper? Have you boycotted Swift products? Have you turned in a friend/family member who who has hired an illegal?

I agree that Cesar Chavez was adamantly opposed to illegal immigration and he did not hate them. But Cesar Chavez did understand economic and social realities - which made him a great labor leader. On the economic side he knew that an unending supply of cheap (illegal) labor drives DOWN the value of his union laborers in the fields - as labor in an economic sense is a commodity. Not that people are, but labor is. The more you have of anything means that its market value is diminished in total.
On the societal front, Cesar Chavez also knew that assimilation and commonality were also important issues. We are becoming "Balkanized" in America with such a huge and massive influx of people that have no intention of ever assimilating. We have 2 cultures, each resenting the other. But one has a right to be resentful as they see a culture invading their country and breaking the rules to get a foothold on a new life.

Here is what we are really up against. Read this: “Surely you must realize all of your efforts, all of them, are futile? Your own government and elected representatives are aiding and abetting our Reconquista, and there is nothing you can do about it. Nothing! This is our country now. Can you honestly say California is an American state? Our people are firmly in charge there. Once the mid-term elections are over the government will move full speed ahead with a blanket amnesty and citizenship for all of the immigrants already here.

“This will cause a virtual flood of immigration as our brethren crash the gates and demand their human rights, citizenship, and social benefits. You, the white colonizer and pillager, will pay for it all! Once our brothers get the right to vote we will ensure that only those who agree with, or at least support our agenda stand for office. As the Borg would say, "resistance is futile." Death to the white man! Long live Aztlan! Long live the Bronze Age!

“Keep writing your useless warnings! I love reading your pathetic articles. Your attempts to galvanize the hoi polloi into action amuses me. Don't you realize that the average Joe six-pack white trash American doesn't give a s**t? He'll keep on swilling beer and watching Spike TV until the revolution begins in earnest and he is brought to account for the crimes of his forebears. Our allies in the media and academia have seen to it that the white man feels guilty and impotent in the face of his crimes. This is our country now; our women are lovely and pleasing to the eye, and the white man cannot get enough of them. We will defeat you by sheer force of numbers. All of your attempts are futile; your own politicians know that we are the future, that we must be taken into consideration whenever a major decision is made. The white vote means nothing. This is our time now. You had your time. The white man has been ascendant for centuries, now it is the time of the brown man. The best thing you can do for yourself is pack up and leave to northern Europe. You are no longer wanted. Does this make you angry? It is the truth nonetheless and you know it. Thanks be to God that you have been made a stranger in the land your ancestors stole! Viva Aztlan!”

I love Mexican food

Posted by It's true on April 3, 2007 08:09 AM

Anyone even notice the protest...their lack of purchasing over the last week? I didn't. It seemed business as usual arround my neighborhood. Guess it was another bust like the last one. Go home illegals....we'll gladly take our jobs back.

In answer to your question Stop the invasion........Go to NumbersUSA and join up it doesn't cost anything and you can send free faxes to the House, Senate and any Government representative local or nation wide.
Numbers keeps us all updated with lists of politicians who are illegal friendly.

Ken Salazar loves the illegals and will vote to support amnesty.
Ed Perlmutter is a waffler and will most likey vote for amnesty.

All but two Democrats support amnesty...which means they will try to SNEAK new bills through to fool the people.

We will read that this bill wants a ten thousand dollar fine to be paid, return to their country of origin then, let them back in and provide "a path to citizenship" Any wording that includes "path to citizenship" in ANY bill is AMNESTY!! Don't let these pro-illegal politicians get away with vague wording with any new bills concerning Immigration reform.

Get involved!!! We need all the people faxing and calling to express our disgust with any amnesty for illegals.

It is our duty as citizens to protect this country against invasion from any country. Our leaders simply do not care about the American citizen at this time in history. We are becoming the United States of Mexico the new third world country.

Fight the good fight and when election times come around vote OUT any politician who coddled or favored rewards for illegals.

It's just a matter of time until a "guest worker" aka amnesty bill is passed. Many in BOTH political parties want them here. As to what the voters want, you can forget that !
Read IMMIGRATIONS UNARMED INVASION by Frosty Wooldridge, it's definitely a must read. He lives in Colorado.

I wholeheartedly agree with Richard Grimes!

Vote Tancredo! He probably can't win, but, we can send a hell of a message.

Hey MER I went to the grassfire website and signed their petition to G. Bush concerning Illegal immigration. I hope it helps. I am doing all I can to help stop this horrendous influx of millions by just one country. This type of foreign flooding at our gate has got to be STOPPED one way or the other. Our clueless leaders are playing with fire here.
I think there will be real trouble in the future if the illegals are allowed to stay and givin citizenship.

Posted by A on April 3, 2007 11:01 AM

OMG, Richard, you and I actually agree on something. LOL. Notice how the current candidates for either party are never asked what their stand is on this issue. It's like if we don't talk about it, it's not a problem.....

I know that although you will never admit to it, you La Raza types out there are probably saying to yourselves; “Man this take over is so easy! It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. These stupid Gringos have so much guilt and so little pride that they are just letting us walk in and do what we want. What a bunch of cowards!”

Well - to some extent that is true. Our technology and money have made a great number of us complacent and stupid, lacking in even the energy for an attempt at self-preservation. Indeed, many of our so called “progressives” even seem to be helping you to come here to the US illegally, and because of their self hatred would like nothing better than to see you prevail. You must be thinking; “Do these idiots even know that we intend to send THEM back to Europe as well?” The answer is no. They do not.

You see, many of us do not understand your culture. We fail to understand that you see EVERYTHING as male or female, brave or coward, weak or strong. We used to be a little more like that, but in an effort to make things fair, we have worked toward dropping those notions as antiquated. Political correctness, probably a laughable joke to you, governs almost everything we do. We are so afraid of being called a name, that we will sacrifice our own way of life (Which is pretty damn good as you know.) to avoid being called one. We must look so pathetic to you. Not the conquerors you imagined.

Our own system is so easy to turn against us. And you, along with our Muslim friends are doing just that. It works in Europe as well. But you already know that. One thing that you and the Muslims undoubtedly share is a belief that our culture is sick, weak and foolish. I can see how you would think that. It has emboldened you to make that strike that you have dreamed of for so long; the strike against the ugly, arrogant Americans, the great Satan, The oppressor of the world.

But let this American assure you that not ALL of us are un-aware. More of us than you know love The United States and what she stands for. We are proud that she stopped Hitler, fed millions, put the feet of humans of the moon. We are proud of our heritage, our vision, our achievements in science and medicine. Many of the inventions that the rest of the world cannot seem to live without were conceived right here on American soil.
Our freedom has created a fertile ground that, until recently, has produced some of the greatest things the Earth has ever seen. We have much to be proud of.

So in closing, this needs to be said; not all of us will go quietly. Not all of us will lie down and watch 230 years of history be destroyed. Some of us have the vision to see what your true intentions are. Some of us are ready. This may not be as easy as you think.

Truthy is right. The vast silent majority still hold firm to the Constitution and especially the 2nd Amendment. Think about that before you start waiving the Mexican flag over the USA. It will take a lot more than numbers to overcome what is right. It will take a lot more than a Globalist FEDERAL government to subdue the states as well. Go ahead. Bring it on. See what happens in the end. Just as the 'whitey' has been warned, so to have the invaders.

Posted by Jay on April 3, 2007 02:19 PM

Jay says "Bring 'em on". Where have I heard that before?

Posted by on April 3, 2007 04:12 PM

I am a member of Numbers USA and I do send faxes, write letters and make phone calls. I feel like the only one listening is Tom Tancredo. Allard is on the Transportation Board and he isn't stopping the Mexican trucks from coming across the Border. Salazar is a joke, he doesn't represent the legal citizens of the US at all. I do think more and more Americans are becoming aware of the illegal aliens taking over this country and hopefully there will be more of an uproar than there is now.

Check out the Aztlan video on YouTube, its eye opening and easily assimilated for the average TV engorging American.

I saw a picture on the News World link showing Pope Benedict unveiling a bronze bust of John Paul #2. I wonder how much that puppy cost, and how many poor people in the developing world could have been fed for a year with the money used for another Catholic Church art trinket.

Oh well, the Catholic Church will just encourage more illegal aliens to come to the USA to fill the church's coffers.
