Interviewing Miers and Rove
Then I realized the White House was serious.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer appeared before members of the media shortly after this offer was revealed and, more or less, insisted that Miers and Rove needed to be under oath for this sort of interview. Upon hearing that, I cheered. To know that there actually ARE people in Washington willing to stand up and demand that the truth be revealed makes me feel much better.
The fact that the White House would offer such an insulting “compromise” is just further proof that the Bush Administration is starting to lose its grip on reality.
The US Attorney purge committed by Alberto Gonzales and the White House is a very serious problem. It reeks of partisan pandering and abuse of power at the highest levels of government. Miers and Rove MUST appear before a committee UNDER OATH, or they will simply lie to the interviewers in order to protect those responsible for this latest abuse of power and attack on the American judiciary system. How much longer will we allow the Bush Administration to dodge the questions and protect the criminals it harbors?
When will we stop allowing the President to hide liars and thieves within the once-hallowed walls of the White House?
The deception must stop here. President Bush has abused the public’s trust for far too long. If we don’t stand up and speak out against his continued treachery as he tries to cover for his own mistakes and lies and abuse of the Constitution and the American people, then we will have to suffer through 22 more months of his delusional leadership.

I didn't know the President appointed U.S. Attorneys. This is blatantly wrong. I suggest a short straw method or lawyers who desire the post simply include their name on a list and pick 'em as they escalate or scroul towards the top or appoint only Independents. r22037yahoo
