Iraq war & Harry Reid
Saturday, April 28 at 2:00 PM

Brian Stuckey of Denver writes:

Most Americans are incensed by the recent remarks of Sen. Harry Reid that “this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything.” What a message this sends to our troops on the battlefront! Yet, we hear no outcry from the press. If Sen.
Reid and the Democrats were serious about supporting the troops, they would also be supporting their mission. As it is, they support neither. The facts speak for themselves.

This letter has not been edited.

READER COMMENTS

If by "most" you mean the 30%that still support the president, is that fuzzy or new math. "Most" of us support the troops getting on any type of transportation available and comming home. Alive and in one piece is how I support the troops..

Is there only one Brian Stuckey?

Posted by Sharon B. on April 28, 2007 03:05 PM

As usual Brian and the truth have little in common.

Stuckey: "Most Americans are incensed by the recent remarks of Sen. Harry Reid that “this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything.”"

" Less than half of Americans think the United States can win the war in Iraq, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday."

"Forty-six percent said the United States could not win the war in Iraq. "

"This week's survey found 59 percent opposed the president's troop increase, down from 66 percent on January 11."

Posted by Truth on April 28, 2007 03:06 PM

Hmm. Well it seems -you- are incensed, but I've not seen any specific statistic that the majority of Americans share that feeling about Reid's comments. Nor do we have any report about how those troops you seem to care so much about feel regarding the timeline Congress has attached to the funding bill that sits on Bush's desk.

If I were serving in Iraq, under the command of a president who appears intent on running out the clock for the remaining 19 months of his presidency to avoid the unpleasant but inevitable task of redeployment, I'd likely rather get this over with sooner rather than later.

These soldiers are sacrificing enough -- we shouldn't ask them to keep risking their lives cooling their heels in a civil-war-zone for the purpose of sparing the weak man in the White House from facing the consequences of his own incompetence.

Posted by on April 28, 2007 03:08 PM

Who is Brian Suckey and why does his stuff keep getting published?

"Most" Americans are incensed, I don't think so. Why would anybody support the Americans troops in Iraq while they are doing immoral and illegal actions. We should not allow our troops to be transformed into murderers and thugs. Get the troops out of Iraq, NOW!

Posted by Dave on April 28, 2007 04:03 PM

Brian Stuckey emitted the following from a valve at his lower abdomin:

"What a message this sends to our troops on the battlefront!"

It's sends the message that at least Harry Reid is paying attention to what is obvious to the troops on the ground.

It is a botched Invasion and occupation not a war and yes!! it is lost as Mr. reid mentioned . Poor intelligence, lack of a plan and resources...after 5yrs!! not even Custer could be considered that stupid

Posted by rd_warrior on April 28, 2007 05:56 PM

I take it you all believe we are really not in a war for freedom and there is no threat to our way of life-an all to common leftest talking point of late. Nothing to see here, move along now.

It is bad enough the Democrat party has systematically opposed any path towards victory but to remain silent after an outrageous statement by Harry "WE HAVE LOST"Reid is absolutely shameless.

Why on earth would you want to give our enemies any advantage over our brave and honorable troops?

The answer to that question is quite simple .

Any success in this far reaching war before the 2008 election spells doom for the Dems and they know it.

They have clearly chosen our enemies side.

Get Real reminds me of a fish I once caught that swallowed the fly so deep down the gullet that the only humane thing to do was to cut the line and toss it back. It likely lived a relatively happy life in that lake up on the Flat Tops.

So too I suspect Get Real will swim happily around in the years ahead content with the sound-bites regarding Iraq he swallowed four years ago. Most of the country already has coughed these up and we (Republicans and Democrats) are getting on with more reality-based concerns, such as how to better protect our country from terrorism, rebuild our military, and restore the global leadership American had before this president and the GOP Congress led us down the primose path.

Iraq is a problem for the next president -- Democrat or Republican -- this current knucklehead is kicking it down the road for someone else to clean-up, consistent with his resume of bailed-out failures. In the meantime, he'll toss out stale vague phrases like 'freedom,' 'enemies,' and 'threat to way of life'...but it will only be the really dumb fish who will keep taking the bait.

The American public deserves to understand Senator Reid's agenda.

"We're going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war. Senator Schumer has shown me numbers that are compelling and astounding."

--Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, April 12

The modern Democrat party continues to re-work their Viet Nam approach: Military decisions based on poll results.

If you put the welfare of the country ahead of enhancing the power of the Democrat party, than the better alternative is the Petreaus stratgey to fight for a stable Iraqi government that can control the country and keep it together in a federal, democratic system.

General Harry can afford candor because he understands his poltical base is gullible. The truth that his assesment is correct is apparent on this page.

It will be in America's interest if his cynicsm is not rewarded.

The people that hide behinfd the statement that if you don't support the mission, you don't support the troops, is so wrong it's pitiful. Hell, the Government doesn't even support the troops, started with no armor on humvees, failure to follow up on medical care for troops, payroll so messed up that 5,000 weren't getting paid after they were injured, extending tours to 15 months with no concern as to mental stress, failure to send enough troops, no plan for success, failure to involve other countries, lies to the American public that some still swallow, The Army lying to us about Pat Tillman trying to make a hero of him, made Jessica Lynch a hero and never fired a shot. Now these are established facts. How can the American public make ANY informed decision about this war when we have been lied to from day one? Throw out your political affiliation and blind faith in Politicians and look at the facts and then write something that's halfway based on the truth.

Posted by Sharon B. on April 29, 2007 01:18 PM

Seems I've heard from Republicans that the war is lost; and, they said it before Harry said it. I'm amongst those who said it before it happened knowing that "Allah is Great," and "Praise be to Allah," who is smacking down that transmogrified Jew born in a house Mt.2 in Nazareth to become an anti-Semite who loves Bush and shouts into his ear so he'll know how to do his job: "Without him I couldn't do my job," says "Shrub."

Posted by Richard Grimes r22037@yahoo.com on April 29, 2007 02:06 PM

BREAKING NEWS FROM FROM JAMES JONES: Harry Reid is interested in his party gaining more seats, and he thinks the fact that his agenda is also the agenda of the American people will help achieve that.

But imagine that!! A politician who is interested in his party getting elected and who looks at the polls.

Thanks so much, James, for that astounding insight. I expect that next you'll reward us with the news that Harry Reid is wanting people to make political contributions to the Democratic party and that he hopes the agenda of that party will encourage people to contribute.

Is it true, James, that when Republican politicians get together they never talk about politics, or about political contributions or polls?

Posted by Truth on April 29, 2007 02:58 PM

More gibberish from Richard Grimes.....LOL.

For those of you that so love to spout all the biased (left AND right) polls and thell us in your infinite wisdom what they mean, just remember that you can get ANY result you want from a poll by how you word the questions, which answer choices you OMIT and WHO you poll.

How about a poll asking whether you, the voter, support the defeat of our country? I haven't seen one yet, have you?

I suspect that voters threw out the GOP Congress because they were sick of their spending and not getting anything done. Did you hear of ANY concrete plans for what the Dems would do differently while they were campaigning? I didn't. They were smart and let the anger of Republican and Independent voters do their heavy lifting for them.

I do believe that the majority of those voters wanted a CHANGE of direction in Iraq. I do not believe that they wanted to vote for our SURRENDER to terrorist thugs. Gen. Petraeus said that the sectarian violence in Iraq is being driven by Al-qaida in Iraq but Harry Reid doesn't want to hear it.

If the Dems are so sure we all want surrender, why were others in that party so quick to try and "explain" what Harry meant? (Soften his words)

If they really want us to fail, then show some 'nads and REALLY de-fund the war. Watch what happens to the party in 2008. Then you'll find out what most of Americans really feel.

In the meantime, give the surge strategy time to work. Or, are you afraid it will work and any success there means your party loses - the strategy of aligning with our enemies is not very wise for long term political gain. Thinking people recognize that this is what the current Dem strategy is all about. Politicizing a war for your party's political gain.

I have no delusions that Bush was/is a good leader. He mismanaged this from the beginning. No doubt. But we are there and failure should not be an option.

For anybody that wants to see us fail while still proclaiming themselves to be patriots is incomprehensible, except in your own delusional minds.

I am not a Republican but rather an independent. The way the Dems are drifting left I may have to register as an (R) because I can't see myself voting for more of this lunacy.

322 PM: it was the original letter writer who based his main point implicitly on a poll of sorts: that the majority of Americans are "incensed" that Reid said the war is lost. So far, no one has been able to support that statement, with poll results or otherwise. It appears a wish of an individual from an increasingly isolated minority, and not a reflection of how most Americans really feel. So the main point of his argument was built on a pile of sand.

BTW - stale catch-phrase ("surrender" "terrorist thugs" and "patriots") are now the language of the margins on the Iraq debate.

Posted by on April 29, 2007 04:17 PM

Truth,

You may recall that Sen. Reid voted to authorize the President to invade Iraq. But apparently when the going gets tough Sen Reid wants out. Sen Reid will lead us to what exactly? He does not say.

The distinction between opportunism and leadership is doing what you believe is right and it requires the best interest of the country first. A distinction beyond your poll-quoting acknowldgement.

"The art of leadership is saying no, not yes. It is very easy to say yes."

James Jones: "The art of leadership is saying no, not yes. It is very easy to say yes."

Thank you, James, for your vote of confidence in the Democratic Congress.

Being intelligent and well-read, you are well aware of the selling of the war by the Bush administration with false and misleading information and, as George Tenet has just said, no serious debate within the administration about whether we should go to war. You are well aware that the Bush administration had made up its mind to invade Iraq shortly after 9/11 regardless of the existence or lack of existence of a military reason. You are well aware that, according to Colin Powell, the worst day of his life was when he misled the U.N. with false and unreliable information because he didn't heed what Tony Blair said, nor did Tony. Nonetheless I join you in faulting the Democrats and Republicans who bought the war so easily, and I join you in applauding the Democrats for having the courage to say "no".

To find out for myself, I simply went to the troops, their spouses and, in some cases, Gold Star moms and dads.

Of the hundreds of these folks I have met with since Reid said our troops are losers, none have agreed with him. In fact, they are more than angry; many call him a traitor. Some want him tried for treason and, if found guilty, hung by the neck until dead.

However, you can be assured that our forces are not going to allow the likes of Reid and his supporters to permanently effect their morale and ability to kill the enemy. They know what Reid is up to, I promise you, and will simply stride over his slime trail and carry on.

Many of us, like Reid, want our troops home asap. Somewhere along the way, bush dropped the ball on this war. I can`t even figure out where. There were so many things he did wrong. What started as an invasion, and went well for awhile, has now been allowed to turn ilnto a civil war.

"One who loses is a loser. Plain and simple. I do not pull punches or sugarcoat things to make them more PC and more palatable."

If this were true then you'd be calling Bush a loser because he's the one who unnecesarily picked this battle and his and his cronies incompetence is what lost it.

"Also, since according to Reid we have lost, who won? Why won't he say?"

Everybody lost Gunny. Everybody.

The words loose and loosers are not exactly interchangable. If I loose at chess, I am not a looser over all, only in that one area. I am a looser at chess.

That would make our troops loosers at this war, not loosers in general.

Who has won? Well let`s see what the others say on that. Good question!

I have written loose and loosers until the words no longer look like English. I probably spelled them wrong too.

PC, is an awful phrase coined by conservatives to make anyone who tries not to knowingly insult others look like weaklings.

PC is just another word for good manners, the kilnd of thing our mothers and fathers tried to teach us.

Calling someone "far left" doesn't make it true, just as calling yourself a "Patriot" doesn't make you one.

Real patriots don't need to broadcast it. It' is self-evident in their actions. Real patriots are not blindly loyal to party or ideology, but rather to the principles upon which their country was founded- principles I recommend you investigate.

Sharon B., PLEASE understand some basic spelling!! The words you keep trying to use are actually LOSE and LOSERS. The word "loose" refers to something that is not tight, such as "loose-fitting clothes", and there is no proper word in English as "loosers", though this may exist in the vernacular (as one who loosens, or makes less tight). Please use English correctly, as a lack of spelling acumen, especially coupled with pure contempt for the rules of grammar and punctuation, can be an accurate indication of a less than informed idea (refer to Keith's posts as an example). Thank-you!!

One who walks is a walker. One who reads is a reader. One who shoots is a shooter. One who fly fishes is a flyfisher. One who wins is a winner.

Thus, one who loses is a loser.

In a contest that does not alow for ties, like in baseball and war, one side will win and one will lose. The side that wins consists of the winners. The side that loses consists of the losers.

I insist on living in the real world, Sharon, which is black and white to me. Others choose fantasyland, where gray is the predominant color.

Webser's New World Dictionary:

1. duplicity: hypocritical cunning, or deception.

2. prevaricate: to evade the truth: to lie

Sufficiently synonymous for either to be applicable, Mr. Jones, to the bulk of your replies to the lady who posts as 'Sharon B."

LTSC,

Over meticulous attention to minutiae in turn may also be an indication of no real idea at all.

What do you stand for Charles B. Communism? Socialism? Anarchy? or..........

I have read other posts from you and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. I can identify you as left because of your views. But you are the one who makes it quite obvious with your comments. BTW I am neither Rub nor Dem. I hold no loyaltys to either party. My beliefs lie with the goodness of the American people.

Posted by A Patriot on April 30, 2007 02:53 PM

Clear and well said, Gunny.

Some of these folks who want us out are under the delusion that this "war" will end just because we pull our troops out (because we say it is over). Obvious to me that they don't have a clue about who we are fighting and the mentality behind it. They would like to believe in their gray thinking that this enemy is not really evil.

Thanks Patriot (I was 3:22). Some just refuse to see what is right in front of them, that their party has sold out to the far left extremists and seeks the failure of their own country. Their hatred of our President leaves them unable to see the big picture, the war on western civilization. The stakes are high and they approve of a policy against the interests of this country all for political gain.

The utopian society they imagine has never existed, nor will it ever exist. Yet they persist with defeatist ideals.

JamesJones "James, I don't find any post by Sharon in which she says that what Blair thinks is different from what he says. Are you just making that up so you can attack her more easily? If so, shame, shame; that would be akin to, well, let us use the word prevarication."

James claims he was being duplicitous. I say he was, uh, prevaricating. But, James, if it will make you feel any better, I will agree that you were being duplicitous, as well as, uh, prevaricating.

By the way, James, typically, avoided the question. I probably should not have embarrassed him that way.

Poor James, it's frustrating to be a preacher and not have a church to preach in. So he does it here on the forum. You can either go to church on Sunday or you can just read James Jones' posts:

"The simple truth will never temper your sanctimony. You seek only the truth you desire and the truth you desire is all you ever discover."

"I will continue to point out these realities because I think the truth should always prevail."

"It is the truth that is tenacious. All you and I have to do is bear witness which isn't really much to ask considering the sacrifices that other Americans make on our behalf every day."

"The light dispels the darkness even on this page."

Amen. Let us now all stand and turn to page zero in the hymnal.

The question is: do you have the integrity to admit a mistake?

Posted by James Jones on April 30, 2007 06:31 PM

Sharon B,

Pigs do not have the ability to reason and they do not have souls. But they also do not kill their young. They do not mock, insult or ridicule without which you are unable to express any thought.

In other words pigs, and pigs is all they are, live a life of quiet dignity that, based on what you post here, is beyond your comprehension.

Posted by James Jones on April 30, 2007 07:11 PM

I was making a guess. Tony is in hot water over the war at home. Maybe now he wishes he had tried to hold bush back, or said no. Who knows? Why did this simple remark get so far under your skin?

I like Tony, but he is only the Prime Minister, not the Queen (joke here)

JJ you were maybe overreacting a bit.

Posted by Sharon B. on April 30, 2007 07:17 PM

Gunny Bob said without irony:

"I insist on living in the real world, Sharon, which is black and white to me. Others choose fantasyland, where gray is the predominant color."

Gunny, I hate to tell you but the whole world is in color, and that includes a billion shades of gray. There is no "black and white" in the real world or elsewhere. Every black and every white that you see is not. It's gray.

This is a very revealing statement from you in that it allows everyone to see the simplistic and indeed, delusional manner in which you view the world.

It's almost cartoonish, except that cartoons are very colorful and have gray in them, so you probably haven't even see them.

And by the way, who has ever envisioned a "fantasyland" with only gray as the color? What a boring fantasy.

Your guilt over being such a cheerleader for the idiocy that is Bush's foreign policy is forcing you to either come clean and make recompense or to embrace your persona as a doltish pinhead bully who's been wrong about almost everything, even the color of the damn world.

Posted by Charles B on April 30, 2007 08:18 PM

Do I haves to be the one to tell JJ that pigs often kill their young, and then they eat them.?

Posted by Sharon B. on April 30, 2007 08:25 PM

Sharon B.

On Set. 11, 2001 approximately 3,000 Americans were murdered without warning and without mercy for no reason other than they were Amercians - just like me.

They got up in the morning, kissed the loved ones goodbye and went off to the office - just like me.

Before luch time they were throwing themselves off the 110th floor, sometimes hand in hand, to escape the flames.

We had no troops in Iraq at the time.

Since then Blair has shown remarkable leadership and eloquence in explaining what we are up against. Whatever you may think of the man's policly, he is a leader of great courage.

You are wrong to dismiss himas a coward and I am going to say so. Truth and Diegenes are so eager to call people names that they don't even bother to read the posts much less think or address the content.

You and your fellow travelers may think all this is great sport. I don't. I will never forget those 3,000 Americans and why they died.

Posted by James Jones on April 30, 2007 08:28 PM

Waaal now,

Thet thar Jones feller ain't never been much around on a hog farm; thet's fer shore. They eat the younguns, same as they do anythin' else ifn it comes to hunger fer food. An tha idee o' "quiet dignity" comes time ta go out ta tha sty with tha slops pail air sumpin else agin! Jest 'bout busted my sides alaughin' at thet one!

But acorse, thar's done got ta be "souls" in thar somehow, longside o' "reason", an anythin' else might be used ta slam Sharon B.

I spect thet thar Diogenes feller's done got a perty fair meaure on Jones already. Leastways it 'pears thetaway, from what I read.

This hyar forum shore is fun! Ain't it?

Posted by Old Grouch on April 30, 2007 08:57 PM

James Jones: "You and your fellow travelers may think all this is great sport. I don't. I will never forget those 3,000 Americans and why they died."

James, in addition to being overly sanctimonious, you are overly arrogant, if not insolent. If you are Catholic you need to confess your asinine comment insinuating that people who disagree with you consider 9/11 a great sport.

Do you think a total lack of integrity is consistent with being a good Christian?

Posted by Truth on April 30, 2007 09:33 PM

Old Grouch,

I had just completed accusing Sharon B and her fellow travelers as attaching no significance to the war on terror other than sport and you immediately post your attempt at burlesque.

If you had any imagination you would appreciate the irony. But then if you had any imagination you would also have a modicum of intelligence and then you just wouldn't be you.

Cloaked in your pseudonym, safe in your home you relish the opportunity to mock people you don't know. I do not doubt for a moment that for you this is fun. These posts are more revealing then you know.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 07:13 AM

Forgive me, Mister Truth, if I be wrong here.

But I've always thought that arrogant sanctiphonious piosity was the road to Sainthood in the Roman Church. Coupled together with great concern over, much lament about, and constant exposition and illustration of, other people's lack of morals and generally sinful bad character whenever possible, of course.

Surely, Mister Jones is a perfect candidate for Canonization under the circumstances.

Posted by Diogenes on May 1, 2007 07:19 AM

Truth,

Last time for the facts.

Sharon B posted:

"And I`ll bet Tony wishes he had had the courage to say no to bush in the beginning."

I responded that she should not try to read Blair's mind and you wrote:

James, I don't find any post by Sharon in which she says that what Blair thinks is different from what he says. Are you just making that up so you can attack her more easily? If so, shame, shame; that would be akin to, well, let us use the word prevarication. 07:49 AM

I have given you three opportunites to correct the mistake which you have ignored.

The fact is you can't handle the truth. When we first started these exchanges you would quite often mis-read my post and when I called you on it you still had the integrity to correct the record. Now that's gone too.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 07:23 AM

Diogene,

You accused me of being a liar. I asked you be the basis of the insult and you have none.

The record is now clear: you were indulging in name calling. When you have nothing material to add you just insult whoever happens to be handy.

That is probably a reflexive response.

I forgive you your name calling now go and don't do it any more.

Your lantern is much too small.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 07:33 AM

My, my, my. Knickers all in a knot are they?

The sequence of postings is, of course, not under my control, Jones. And, when it comes down to that, not in yours either.

My reply, as you well know, was to your sweet little dissertation on pigs, and their life of "quiet dignity".

And reading along, whatever the timing, or sequence, of the posting, I'll stick with my thoughts that whoever is writing as "Diogenes" has a good measure of you.

Posted by Old Grouch on May 1, 2007 07:36 AM

Don'tcha just get tired of Sharon B and all of her horsepuckey posts? Not only that she is just plain gross and does nothing but clutter up the threads.

Posted by Sharon Be-gone!! on May 1, 2007 08:23 AM

Old Grouch,

You will have noted by now that Diogenes actually asked me to forgive him for his untrue charge.

Irony seems to abound this morning doesn't it? It just does that some times. Or maybe it's just God's sense of humor.

We have absolute freedom on this page to be the person we choose to be. You can post whatever you like and what you like to post defines who you are.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 08:33 AM

JamesJones, only a person of your lack of caliber would try to claim that this statement was an attempt to read someone's mind:

"And I`ll bet Tony wishes he had had the courage to say no to bush in the beginning."

You should have some mature person check your posts before you submit them.

Posted by Truth on May 1, 2007 08:43 AM

James Jones, you are full of gall and empty of integrity. You constantly act as though you know what is in the minds of me, Old Grouch and other liberal posters. May the Good Lord forgive you for your transgressions.

Posted by Truth on May 1, 2007 08:50 AM

And the Goddess too!

Posted by Sharon B. on May 1, 2007 09:19 AM

And just where, Mister Jones, have I asked for YOUR forgiveness? And for what "untrue charge"?

Neither you nor anyone else needs to "forgive me" for posting definitions from Webster's dictionary, and/or for making the observation that they are synonymous. Or for stating that your postings reflect the fact that they are synonymous, especially when you post to the lady, Sharon B.

YOUR "forgiveness", indeed! What nonsense!

You may find my lantern small; but it does illuminate well enough.

Posted by Diogenes on May 1, 2007 09:28 AM

Well Jonesy, old Boy, I see you're back to your game of rarin' back and passin' a miracle, "forgiving" someone for no reason at all - other than showing off your own beneficent nature, that is.

Must be wonderful to sit up there - wherever it be you sit, wrapped in your sanctiphonious piosity and bathed in the brilliance of your own self-generated halo- imagining that your omniscience - or might it be your omni-incompetence? - has found another person upon whom to bestow your god-like attention.

Jest leaves us folks down hyar with them thar "quietly dignified" pigs an sich in awe an flabbergastion at the wonder o' it all.

Posted by Old Grouch on May 1, 2007 09:48 AM

"I will never forget those 3,000 Americans and why they died."

Still, you HAVE forgotten who killed them. Saudis, not Iraqis. Led by bin Laden, not Saddam Hussein. Who is now hiding in Pakistan, most likely, not Iraq. And who is THRILLED by our occupation of Iraq because it a) got rid of a secular dictator who hated him, b) gave him a new base for recruitment, and c) confirmed in many Middle Eastern minds what he'd been telling them all along - that Americans are invaders who want to take over their countries and run their lives.

We will lose this war as long as we continue to focus on the wrong enemy, the wrong battles, the wrong targets. Iraq is a distraction, a red herring.

Attacking Iraq in response to 9-11, and keeping our troops and our resources there, is like responding to the threat of Hitler by attacking Sweden, because all those Scandinavian/Teutonic Lutheran types are alike anyway.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 12:38 PM

Katja,

I have not forgotten who was behind 9/11.

We were attacked by religious fanatics and our enemy is anyone who shares their fanatacism regardless of the origin of their birth.

There are some distinctions that can be drawn between Islamists and Lutherans under the circumstances. Do they escape your acknowledgement?

Does your WWII analogy suggest we should have invaded Saudi Arabia?

[DIOGENES IS MISINFORMED]

I see!, Mister Jones.

YOU post BOTH as "James Jones" and as "Truth". So that an answer directed to "Mister Truth" is also then directed to YOU..

Why have you not deinged to enlighten us all before, as to this rather miraculous dual personality?

Pigs are carniverous at times, and will kill and eat their young, or anyone else who falls into the pen.

But they love to wrestle.

Posted by Sharon B. on May 1, 2007 03:38 PM

Sharon B.

That behaviour among pigs is described as aberrant and savage.

Among humans it's described as protecting constitutional rights.

You ought to consider that we a higher purpose then to be destined to the fate of pigs. The choice is ours.

Posted by James Jones on May 1, 2007 06:24 PM

I know it is aberrant, but you said they didn`t do it.

You also said pigs do not have souls. did the Bible tell you that? If you are wrong about the killing, could you also be wrong about the souls?

Posted by Sharon B. on May 1, 2007 07:47 PM

Sharon B,

Probably the only lesson you can draw from this is that pigs do not debase themselves as do many humans.

You should keep that fact in mind that next time you try debase people who disagreee with you by comparing them to a pig.

The Bible teaches that pigs do not have souls but children in the womb do.

Posted by James Jones on May 2, 2007 06:45 AM

Well, Jonesy, yore shore sumpin else agin. So what you just got done acallin' "abberant behavior in pigs" is the same as humans "protecting constitutional rights", eh?

An somers else in these hyar silly rambles o' yourn ya done told me I could larn a lot from pigs, too. Waal now, ifn "protecting constitutional rights" air sumpen larnable from pigs, I'm sore nuff ready fer agettin' led ta the waller. Cause I'm all fer "protecting constitutional rights", special like thet o FREE SPEECH. Even fer tha likes o you, Jonesy boy.

Yore far an away tha best belly laugh a feller can get in any day. Better even then awatchin' a greenhorn tryin' ta control an ol mule aridin' down tha Grand Canyon Trail

Posted by Old Grouch on May 2, 2007 07:55 AM

Would that old mule be Harry Reid Grouch????

Posted by on May 2, 2007 09:17 AM

Not bad - a bit of wit at last!

Posted by James Jones on May 2, 2007 09:34 AM

So children in the womb have a soul! Is this the same Bible that talks about rabbits chewing their cud?

The words aberrant and savage are subjective words of judgement. Anyone who has raised livestock knows that killing and EATING young is common. Even among dogs and cats.

killing our young, before they have achieved person-hood under our law, and are still inside the woman, is a right, eating them is not.

I learned from you, on these forums that calling people names, mocking them and trying to humiliate them is how it is done. Surely you don`t object to being on the receiving end sometimes. It is all in good fun.
