Moderate Muslims
Monday, April 2 at 1:31 PM

Cody Hondorf, 8th grader, Summit Middle School, Boulder, writes:

The wars in the Middle East are well known but when it comes to understanding the moderate Muslim, less is known about them and the influence they hold on events there. The wars are being waged against a Muslim faction that are extremist in their view of Western culture.
To understand the moderate Muslim culture is to understand their motivation in how they can positively change the outcome of these wars.
It is important to positively influence the moderate Muslim because a majority of the people are silent moderates (much like the Germans in WW II). Because of their great numbers they have the power to ease the tensions in the Middle East. It has been reported that some of the major sources of funding to the terrorists comes from the moderates so this is why it is so important to change their position to one of peaceful coexistence and not destructive division.
In the third world countries where many of the tensions arise, helping moderates to overcome the challenges they face, such as sporadic education, poor nutrition, exploited resources, and lower standard of living, will help stop the root cause of their hatred for the western countries. In the extremists view point, the West’s help has been seen as destructive to the Muslim culture and power. Historically, the West has broken many promises to various Muslim countries and this is the basis of much of their distrust. This can be remedied with small steps over time in order to develop a better future for all of them, especially a basic standard of living.

so youre saying that the moderate muslims both fund the extremists and hate the 'West'....so what exactly is so moderate about them?

what you're promoting is the same as the Europeans have been doing for years...just be nice to the muslims, and they will stop being so mean...which is a delusion...

If a person claims he or she is a Muslim, than a true Muslim must hate everyone else who is not of their Muslim faith.
The Koran is clear on this.In the Koran it is clear that they have every right and duty to kill anyone who does not change their faith and become a Muslim.

So where does that leave America? We have to play nice to people who hate us.They hide behind the walls of their Mosques preaching and praying for America's death and destruction. They use our freedoms to practice and preach their hate. Why do you think you have heard no one from the Muslim Clerics and Imams in America stand up and LOUDLY come out against radical Islam? It is because they use America for money to fund overseas terror operations.

America should not send one penny to any Muslim group in any Muslim country. If they do they are funding another 9/11.No Muslim should be trusted. They act like peace loving people in front of your face and plot your death behind your back. They are evil.

"what you're promoting is the same as the Europeans have been doing for years...just be nice to the muslims, and they will stop being so mean...which is a delusion..."

Yeah...you only have to look at extremist Christians in the U.S. for proof of this.

Repeat after me: Organized religion is just politics masquerading as faith.

Religion and faith are not the same thing.

Faith is knowing God in your heart.

Religion is telling everyone else that God is on your side, not theirs.

There is much wisdom in the words of young Cody Hondorf. These words, especially, are words we as a nation should take to heart:

"helping moderates to overcome the challenges they face, such as sporadic education, poor nutrition, exploited resources, and lower standard of living, will help stop the root cause of their hatred for the western countries."

"Historically, the West has broken many promises to various Muslim countries and this is the basis of much of their distrust. This can be remedied with small steps over time in order to develop a better future for all of them, especially a basic standard of living."

dio thinks it is better that we be mean to the Muslim peoples rather than nice. It's an unusual approach to making friends. But a really good one for making, or keeping, enemies. Personally, I think we have plenty of enemies.

People who spread hatred are evil, whatever their claimed religious affiliation or lack of it.

Until moderate muslims protest against Islamic terrorism with a fraction of the fervor that extremists display, the world will not believe that they are not comlicit with the Master Plan of World Domination by Islam.

Wait a minute...
The Mexicans say they are taking back what we stole from them. (hence the invasion) read "Illegal Immigrants" in todays RMN Jays post.

The Muslims are plotting behind closed Mosque doors to overthrow America and convert us to Islam. Kiss your heads bye bye if you don't want to become a good little Muslim.

Hmmm I think we should pit the gazillion Latinos (much like Tribbles, their born pregnant) against the (lobotomized by religion) Muslims and let them diminish each others numbers through warfare.
We can sit back and watch then come in and restore some semblance of sanity back to the U.S. This was our country wasn't it?? Isn't it??

The Koran says "kill;" the Bible says "kill;" and the killing won't stop until humans are extinct. All holy books are books of the demon; the demon is the author. r22037yahoo

Being a true unbeliever Grimes, I just don't believe in demons.

If you would have said holy books were written by power hungry, controlling trogs I would have applauded.

Don't be too quick to paint all religions or the people in them with a broad brush. As a Christian, I choose to focus on the good parts of my faith and do not use it as an excuse to hate or be intolerant of others. I know Muslims who do the same.

Hearts and minds take time to change and I think Cody has the right idea on where to begin.

To the Evil one: I am an athiest, and living in a Muslim country. I have, however, read the Koran, and it does NOT state ANYWHERE that

1) "a true Muslim must hate everyone else who is not of their Muslim faith."

nor

2) that they have every right and duty to kill anyone who does not change their faith and become a Muslim.

Sadly, I am one of only a handful of American people who have bothered to actually READ the Koran and find out what it really says. It is the politicians and pundits that have been spouting LIES about what is said therein in an attempt to incite hate and suspicion of others. I suggest to ANYONE interested in TRUTH that you at least attempt to read the thing before quoting from it. This goes for the Bible, as well.

If your politicians tell you that santa claus is really a devil (hec, he wears that firey red all the time) will you believe it? If they see fit to MAKE you believe it and if you don't QUESTION and research for yourself, then, yes, you will believe that santa is satan (funny, I just noticed the letters in those two names... must be TRUE!!!!)

Why don't these moderate muslims speak out against the fanatics who murder in the name of their god? I know I would. What gives?

Posted by KW on April 3, 2007 04:20 PM

Sheila, thank you very much for your post. Of course, it won't affect the "thinking" of the ignorant fanatic fringe extremists who rave and rant about things they know not of. But it is important for others to know that these idiots don't know what they are talking about. Being a polite kind of a guy, I won't name any names but people who identify themselves by a single initial are sometimes very paranoid.

Sheila and Truth are good little clueless dimmis that are practicing Taqiya.Look it up.
The koran DOES say that if you do not convert to Islam you are an infidel and must die. It is clearly stated multiple times. The ultimate goal is global domination under Sharia law. Obviously not all Muslims adhere to this but the "hijackers of Islam" sure as hell do. Moderate Muslim silence is violent jihadi compliance. End of story. Clean out the wackos in your house or you are going to be grouped in with them. Look at Catholicism with the gay pedo priest crap. After justified outcries from followers they cleaned their house as to not be seen as approving of their behavior. Moderate Muslims must do the same -very quickly and very loudly - or be seen as compliant. They can start their outrage with the Imams teaching and condoning violence in far to many mosques -many here in America.BTW-Muhammad was clearly a pedophile (as I'm sure Sheila knows as she has read the koran) when he consummated his marriage with 9 year old Ayesha . But what do I know-I am just a dirty Kufir.

Qur'an some quotes......

Qur'an 9:88 "The Messenger and those who believe with him, strive hard and fight with their wealth and lives in Allah's Cause."

Qur'an 9:5 "Fight and kill the disbelievers whenever you find them, take them captive, harrass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."

Qur'an 9:112 "The believers fight in Allah's Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed."

Qur'an 9:29 "Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission."

Ishaq:325 "Muslims, fight in Allah's Cause. Stand firm and you will prosper. Help the Prophet, obey him, give him your allegiance, and your religion will be victorious."

Qur'an 8:39"Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah."

Qur'an 8:39 "So fight them until there is no more Fitnah(disbelief-non-Muslims) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone."

Ishaq:324"He said,"fight them so that there is no more rebellion, and religion, all of it, is for Allah only. Allah must have no rivals."

If I peddled snake oil, I'd sell the guys on Allah: He has created virgins without menses, stools, or urine for his male slaves (ask.com): Indeed, women are slaves to slaves. Men are slaves to Allah; women are slaves to men. Where did this mentality come from? The “Buy Bull” hijacked by Allah (Mohammad's fanclub) r22037yahoo

I suggest that those unfamiliar with what the Koran has to say on things go to Jihadwatch.org and read some of Robert Spencer's writings. Before you dismiss him as an intolerant "hater" you might want to read his bio on the site.

---actually i think its better to be neither mean or nice...i approve of freedom and liberty...
just because i think its a bad idea to coddle muslim countries so that they will be nicer, doesn't mean i want to be mean to them...
