John Glen of Littleton writes:

Now that Senator Hillary Clinton has been seen wearing a cross and Senator John Edwards is invoking “my Lord” in his life, as a conservative Republican I might have to vote Democratic in 2008.
Then again, Madonna wears a cross on a regular basis and the $400.00 haircuts by Senator John Edwards don’t seem to fit my conservative beliefs.

As a conservative don't you believe in a "free market" as incentive for people to better themselves? Or are you simply the typical repugnant hypocrite?

Edwards got himself an education and an advanced degree (first in his working class family) and made millions for himself so that he could buy $400 haircuts.

Are you a socialist? Don't you believe in the profit motive? Or ar free markets for everyone except trial lawyers and LA hairstylist?

If you pay $400 for a haircut, why get something that looks like a bad rug?

Do you have a point or discussion point Charles? Or is it name calling Yes yelling MORON is childish, but making a point to Rep and his buddies that think that bullying and namecalling to get a point across is cool....Well I guess it is cool as long as it is just your group. When someone writes a letter so devoid of substance, then I will respond by pointing it out.

Give me a coherent answer why the almighty profit motive shouldn't rule our world in every single case, and maby I'll drop the hypocrite accusation too, but I'm not holding my breath.

If this bunch were on stage at the comedy club doing improv, they would all get yanked.

Reps are Hyp. Edwards can do whatever the heck he pleases with his hair. If you think that people (Reps) really care what he does with his hair, I am sorry.
Edwards came from "the little guy" world and has made a lot of money and fame in result. Good for him. As long as he advocates the same incentives, opportunities that he was given, to the rest of the US then we are good. If he now wants to put limitations on opportunities, then we have a problem.

Lighten up a bit. You do not see me getting my undies in a bunch over the multitude of derogatory names given to the Rep Admin, you should not get too wound up over negative funnies towards the Libs. I do not agree with either. I do however get my undies in a bunch when the negative terms are directed towards fellow citizens on this forum.

All the candidates play the same game. To get elected you have to be wealthy, even if you are evil and you have to pretend that you are religious. So we have a variety of christian and mormon. Still need some krishnas and buddists

Did everyone like Rudy's answer on abortion? Makes one wonder where he would stand regarding the holocaust.

Courage of conviction is missing in both parties, but an over abundant blood thirst for power a.k.a. hands on purse strings and control over political mechanics.

We are offered a "whatever the way the polls are blowing..." political discourse, trying to appease everyone to get votes and political power.

This is why we have Flip Flop Kerry, Hillary with numerous views on Iraq and everything else to the point she changes her dialect depending on to whom she is speaking, Rudy who can't say what he truly feels because conservatives are a third of the Republican vote, Gov. Romney not sticking to his guns and focusing on his accomplishments, also catering to the party extremists, and so on...

Wouldn't it be nice if a politician would say "I'll tell you what I believe, if you agree vote for me, if you don't so be it, and if I get elected I would serve with an honor and pleasure and consider it a sacred trust, and if I don't get elected, I'll go away and do something else.
