Episcopal Church
Thursday, May 24 at 11:20 AM

Brian Stuckey of Denver writes:

The current debacle over the property of Grace and St. Stephen’s Church is an unfortunate outcome between the parish and the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. What seems to be overlooked, at least from my perspective, is that the entire schism might have been averted had the Episcopal Church not fallen away from its original teachings. After all, the Colorado Springs parish is hardly the only case where such schisms have occurred in recent years. It is apparent that most conservative Episcopalians do not accept the liberal social agenda of the church, which they interpret as contrary to the Scriptures. That is, in essence, the crux of the problem.

But gee Brian, what if the "original teachings" were...WRONG.

The "original teachings" of many religions have been used to justify slavery, genocide, murder, rape, torture and now discrimination.

The schism i isn't about social agendas. It's people who believe that demonstrating respect for others is a fundamental principle of their faith at odds who are firmly entrenched and anchored in their stubborn devotiong to passing judgment on others so that they can feel a false sense of superiority.

Get over it, Stuckey. You keep trying to ride this horse and it's already dead.

Blather, blather, blather. Who cares what the machinations of those cults are?

Mr Stuckey.
Please read the header of this publication. It says "Rocky Mountain News". It doesn't say "Papal Newsletter" or "Vatican Daily" or anything else leading readers to believe it is a religious publication. Please, from now on, please send these inquiries to "The WatchTower" and tell them that you are worried about the Episscopalians.

Episcopalians are the most staid, Laura Ashley bunch on Earth. It is funny to see them get so upset that they actually make the newspapers with their antics.

This rupture is only one of ten thousand mutations occurring in one apostolic belief for which the Catholic Church contends belongs to it and is therefore the one true church of Jesus Christ and unless all ten thousand come back to the fold they are all going to hell. There is no doubt that religion stops the thinking mind because once you accept its dogma you don't have to think anymore.
