Gonzales unfit to serve
Alberto Gonzales has lied under oath repeatedly, shown a blatant disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law, and been instrumental in turning the Justice Department into just another agency in the political service of the Bush administration. If Bush won’t fire him and he won’t quit, then he must be impeached. He simply is not fit to serve.

This has all become a political football and frankly, this do nothing taxicratic congress needs to spend their time working on real problems and quit harrassing the the executive branch.

Yes all the past presidents do fire US attornies, usually after they been reelected. These firings are mid-term are smell awefully fishy.
Plus congress has every right to hound the executive branch, it is their job, unlike the previous rubbering stamping, George is King, Republican congress.

The Senate can disagree with the firings all they want, but in the end - It is out of their hands. The Constititution gives the Senate the ability to agree/disagree on hiring, not firing. This is nothing more than political theater.

Nicholson stole (federal earmark) the Denver VA Hospital director's job and gave it illegally, to his GOP crony, Lynette Roff ("Brownie"). In violation of federal law, Roff isn't a vet of any sorts and she has a history of only serving herself. Nick also repeated this act when he hired Kathy Malin, Manager, Denver VA Customer Service. She isn't a vet either. This is massive fraud, waste, and abuse of federal funds, and these 3-amigos should be cellmates and playmates for Abramoff, Nye, Nacchio, and Cunningham.
I applied for the director's job and I wasn't interviewed, despite my federal 10 point disabled veterans preference (disabled and served in 3 deployments to Vietnam). Since this hospital is in DeGette's district, I wrote a letter to her complaining that Nick was excluding black disabled vets, like me, from the VA's 6-figure salary jobs and giving them to his white cronies, through an illegal (U.S. Congress) political appointment scheme. DeGONE, blew me off and my Vietnam brothers in Northeast Denver should remember this at the polls. Where's Pelosi, Reid, and the Denver NAACP when you need'em?

If Gonzales were a Democrat, the Democrats would be screaming in the halls that this is a racist lynching by the Republicans.

Why can't those in Washington do their jobs, we have a terrible social security problem, the immigration issue and others that are being ignored for these types of political circus acts.
The reason to keep politics out of the firing of assistant attorneys general is that whether a person should be prosecuted should depend on whether or not he has committed a crime and not on what political party he belongs to.

This is perfectly indicative of the DOJ under Bush. Cornering a potentially dying man while he's suped up on drugs to get him to sign off on something you know to be illegal so you can pre-date the signature and push it through is one of the most despicable things I've ever heard of.
My question is this: can any Bush administration member or appointee ever be guilty of anything ever? Or do all attempts to point out the depth of sleaze of these people amount to attacks on Bush? If Condi murdered somebody, would an investigation into it be "political theater?"
Alberto Gonzales is innocent. He is as qualified as any lawyer who has passed the bar; he is as qualified as anyone who can articulate a sentence without too much error. It is his boss who is not qualified to have appointed him. Get my drift: Alberto is Bush's Judas and Judas was totally innocent since he was simply carrying out the decree mandated by his boss. Go to the source; don't kill the messenger. I continue to allude to Chris Rock's "retard" in the White House.
