'Gunny Bob’
This letter has not been edited.
Here's news for you pal, conservative does not equal bigot. Gunny Bob is a bigot, and that's what he's selling.
Posted by anderson on May 23, 2007 02:14 PMI think it's even more sad that you are saying he was "attempting to defend our nation from potential Islamic terrorists." How is sitting on the air waves preaching to like minded people defending anything? Don Imus was also expressing free speech.
Posted by Joe on May 23, 2007 02:31 PMSubstitute Jew for Muslim and maybe even you will be able to understand how despicable the remarks by Gunny Bob really were. Gunny Bob should go away and take his idiot fans with him.
Posted by More BS from BS on May 23, 2007 02:44 PMBrian, There is no outcry when the bible is "attacked in our public schools" because the bible is not supposed to be in our public schools. And "it is perfectly acceptable to attack christian evangelicals,
but it is outrageous to criticize muslims."
Well, I've never had a muslim come to my door and attempt to proselytize me, either,
but I have these christian kooks come to my door every saturday and sunday attempting to convert me. If a muslim DID come to my door trying to convert me, I'd attack him, too!!
(All religions are bunch of cultist kooks, if you ask me.)
The ever-flatulent Ms. Stuckey whines again. Keep up the stupid fight, B.S.
Posted by FYK on May 23, 2007 03:14 PMAll the damn libs are just upset over Air America's continued failure and are doing their best to get all the competition off the air. You want to hear hurtful bigotry, listen to randi rhodes show (if it is still on the air).
Posted by on May 23, 2007 03:19 PMWhy? You can see from the letter above, the level of thinkers these shows attract. It ain't too bright. But they're all good consumers.
Posted by anderson on May 23, 2007 03:26 PMRandi Rhodes is an absolute dipsht but so is gunny bob,
pretty much any talking head for the left or right is a waste
Posted by Fresh on May 23, 2007 04:01 PMOnce again Anderson and his illk are showing their true colors. When they are unable to use actual intelligence and tact during a discussion. They revert to the mindset of elementary grade dropouts and use the volcabulary that mathes their IQ. Should they ever use anything but this meathod, then perhaps people would actually consider what they are saying, until then, please, some one give them a lollipop and send them home to sulk in their rooms.
Posted by on May 23, 2007 05:19 PMAnd did you have anything to say about the letter above, or are you just practicing your skills in identifying and attacking villains, as every good talk radio fan is trained to do?
Posted by anderson on May 23, 2007 05:32 PMKOA is a STEWARD of the Public's airwaves, and they are doing a very bad job. KOA by allowing ex-sergeant Newman to masquerade his mean-spirit propaganda as entertainment is having a harmful effect on our society and country. It is similar to when when white supremacists broadcast for radio stations in the South to spew their propaganda about black people.
Bob should be jerked from the public airwaves. It is good so many sponsors refuse to be associated with his hate.
Posted by Dave on May 23, 2007 05:34 PM"Gunny Bob" What an idiot name... fitting.
Posted by Charles B on May 23, 2007 07:44 PM I heard"runny" Bob's bigoted rant, and I say PLEASE, KEEP IT UP, BOBBY. (Actually, I believe that's one of his problems, he can't keep it up, Thats why so many cons are so angry, and use their guns for a substitute for a working penis.)
Cons are their own worst enemy, as the truth is exposed, so is their bullsh*t.
God bless the PUBLIC -OWNED airwaves.
While I don't agree with Gunny Bob's statements, I'm sickened by those who want to yank him off the air. The first amendment is not just for those you agree with, but that seems to have been missed by so many narrowminded people. His statement was well within the law; there was no incitement of violence and no personal libel of an individual.
One of the greatest challenges this nation faces is not from terrorists but from people who make it their business to be incensed by everything. This runaway political correctness is the civic equivalent of irritable bowel syndrome and following this path will only produce a weak and fearful public.
More power to the jerks! We need more people willing to say what they think and give the proverbial finger to the perpetually offended. And those who disagree can kiss my...well, you get the idea.
Posted by Neal5x5 on May 23, 2007 08:13 PMI'm not sure who's calling for him to be yanked off the air but the airwaves do belong to the public. Just as there's a limit as to the pollution we allow in the air, there should be a limit on the amount of pollution we allow on the airwaves. Hate speech doesn't belong.
Since you think political correctness has run amok, I assume you thought calls for Churchill's firing after his essay was "discovered" were also unjust.
Posted by anderson on May 23, 2007 09:59 PMI bet Deal'n Doug didn't cut and run with his ads. Doug showed his racist fangs when he fired 4 black car salesmen on MLKII's birthday.
Posted by jjxant on May 23, 2007 10:07 PMI love Gunny Bob and will continue to listen and support his advertisers. Semper Fi!
Posted by CWW on May 24, 2007 10:36 AMI don't know what Gunny Bob said, but Mike H, Freedom of religion, as in the 1st Amendment, does not mean freedom FROM religion. There is a very large difference that you and the progressives can't seem to understand. And as for Muslims proselytizing at your door, if that happens, they will more than likely be carrying a weapon to kill you, rather than the Koran.
I wish all the crybabies would realize that living in the USA does NOT mean you have the right to NEVER be offended by anything.
I'm with Gunny Bob. Well, except I think we should round up fundamentalist Christians, the idiot scum of the nation. But that still makes me technically with him, right?
Posted by [POF] FYK on May 24, 2007 11:40 AMJay,
It definitely DOES mean freedom FROM reliigion, in ANY ORGANIZED form, at any time, under any circumstances in ANY AND ALL areas of civil government, including education. I will again cite - as I have many times before - CASES ON CHURCH AND STATE, a Harvard Casebook - which should be available in your better libraries, or John F. Wilson & Donald L Drakeman, CHURCH AND STATE IN AMERICAN HISTORY, MJF Books, New York, NY , 2003, which can be found at Barnes & Noble.
Posted by Old Grouch on May 24, 2007 01:46 PMHow about freedom from a religion that wants to chop my head off?
Posted by Snarky on May 24, 2007 03:47 PMYes, Snarky, that too.
Posted by Old Grouch on May 24, 2007 05:20 PMI have freedom "From" religion. How could I not? As a "progressive" who is to dim to understand this, Help me out here. Jay, please explain how, or in what circumstances I do not have freedom FROM religion.
I have never had anyone say, "in this instance you do not have freedom from religion" and then fill in the blanks.
Jay, have at it!
